Just to give you a heads up.
As with the Hellcat, SRT was sure to leave some wiggle room in their tests. They did this with the Hellcat, which eventually BEAT factory claims. The Demon will do the same. All part of the plan folks. Underpromise and overdeliver is why the Hellcat has done so well and become an instant classic. R. |

It seems that the HC is a little bit more tricky to launch.

I'll add.... ZL1 can get it done pretty good in showroom stock condition. The Hellcat is dangerous in showroom stock condition and needs at least a tire (and maybe a drive shaft) to use what it's got. |

I'm not so sure. There are some folks that know what they're doing with the ZL1. It seems a low 11 is the sticking point. I agree the MPH is there for a high 10, but that 60' isn't gonna get it done with what we're seeing. Tires haven't seemed to help either. I think the consensus is TM is the limitation.
When the HC first came out, friends of mine ran 10s the first day they took them to the track, on DR. No one I know fools around with all season tires and 650RWHP so let's not get back in to that discussion. I'm no professional drag racer, but I know what I'm doing. Sunday was my first real outing in the HC and I ran 10.5x three times in a row easily. Mike from OSTDyno tuned my old car Orange Krush. He's a genius with this stuff and he saw my post on the HC forum with the slips. He said I am running about 2/10th better than most of his customers, but again I have experience to lean on. Mike was telling me about some of the tuning in the HC (like 88 tables just for the transmission alone!) and he thinks with a tune on my car just as it sets a high 9 is possible. I did some data log review last night, and that 10.52 might have been a 10.49 afterall. The car showed 4° of STKR on that run for some reason. Mike said the knock sensors on the HC are really sensitive and fast to react, but the factory also tuned it real hot right off the show room floor. Losing 4° of timing is like losing about 40RWHP and it pulled that amount through the last gear for some reason. Not sure if I hit a bump in the track that upset the sensors or what. The 10.51 run only had 1.5° STKR. |

Like I said before, you'd be fortunate to own either car. I see a lot of hellcat hate here, but I guess it should be expected on a ZL1 board. lol. I tend to show respect when I think it's due, in this case, I think the dodge deserves it. I crossed shopped the hellcat but chose the Camaro because I loved the look, and because of the drive shaft and rear end issues I read about the 'cat.
I'm a drag racer at heart, so I could've gone the other way if I wanted to be quicker. Yes, I do believe the hellcat is quicker if both have some type of sticky tire. Since the ZL1 is still relatively new, only time will tell how well it responds to minimal mods. From what I've seen, the big dodge flies with very simple bolt-ons.

Well I stand corrected. Wow, that's quick for such minimal mods! Completely stock exhaust? How much weight reduction? How much overdrive is that pulley?

U seem to be on par with the Chevy Performance zl1 test car. Had u done the other mods they did I could see u at 10.0 as well.
