I have owned both the ZL1 1LE and now the standard ZL1. I'll echo the comments made here and add that unless it is a dedicated track car only with almost zero street duty, I personally prefer the standard ZL1.
The ride on the 1LE is frankly bonkers stiff for a street car, and even on smooth roads here in Austin very taxing. I'm a track rat too, and I still wouldn't go with the 1LE unless it was a dedicated track car... but then again if you are doing that there are better options (radical, wolf, formula mazda, etc.) A 300 mile trip in my ZL1 was no problem, but you couldn't pay me to drive a ZL1 1LE that far on the broken roads I drove on. My spine would be in a different location. ![]() My .02 of course. I'm personally more impressed with the standard ZL1 as it is much more well rounded while still very fast. |

*I'd also need painted parts like the reinforced '18 trunk lid and front fascia. I'm betting I'd always see a slight difference in the paint, which would drive me nuts.*
Did we ever figure out if there is really any difference in trunk lids? |

#17-NA-310 - Information on ZL1 1LE High Wing Rear Spoiler Installed on non ZL1 1LE Models Here's some text from the bulletin: "The ZL1 1LE high wing rear spoiler uses the same mounting holes as vehicles equipped with a stanchion spoiler. Installation of the ZL1 1LE high wing rear spoiler requires internal reinforcement to the decklid due to the downforce the high wing provides. 2018 Camaro decklids are produced with the internal reinforcement. Addition of the ZL1 1LE high wing spoiler may cause the decklid to buckle on a 2016/2017 Camaro unless the decklid is replaced with a 2018 reinforced decklid." |

Just took delivery of my 2018 ZL1 1LE this past weekend. I had a 2017 ZL1 on order and missed the cut off. I only have a 150 miles on her and I couldn't be happier. The car is an animal. The ride is just fine for me. It's a toy and not a daily driver. I have an 09 Malibu for going back and forth to work. I think you would seriously enjoy everything about it. Good luck to you!

Hey Travis,
Live in MD, so if you need to feel the beast just send me a PM. Simply a perfect car that is not from across the pond. Have owned American and European autos, but this beast is special! Cheers |
