It's no wonder why every Coyote powered vehicle I've ever seen anywhere making over 750 to the wheels is on a built engine. But go ahead and keep thinking that. And if that is the case with these cars, why aren't you making 800 to the wheels in your GT? I mean, if it was as simple and easy and safe as you say, why haven't you done it bro?
I havent done it yet because of 2 reasons, P1SC is only able to take me to realistically about 720-730whp on E85, which for an auto isnt bad, but its inefficient (pumps heat) at higher boost levels. I have been trying to work with guys who have posted their D1 kits on the market on a trade plus cash but havent had luck yet. So.....Id likely go E85 with a return fuel system and then likely either buy a D1x from procharger and sell my P1sc or do an upgrade thru them if they come out with such deal, so far they arent doing upgrades because their kits are selling really well. Besides that, Im not building a dynoqueen, Im going for ET and trap speeds. Therefore I will gain lots more towards my goal with E85/converter than E85/blower swap and be way cheaper.

s550 is just a little better than that pos s197..avoid both like the plague.

Sad, I would pull the trigger right now, no joke, if I felt like I could rely on the engine to be around in 24-36 months. I absolutely LOVE that car minus the obvious issues.
Yup. Vibrational issues. Oil consumption issues. It IS a shame because one thing I will say is that it is a great looking car. If it weren't for the price, lack of performance, engine issues, ADMs, and that you have to add in options that come standard on the competing cars, I would have been more tempted to buy one.

There is a big difference between pushing 17+ PSI into that engine on rollers and letting it leave the shop that way. That engine has 13.0:1 compression and revs to 8250 RPMs. If you think you're gonna pump that much boost into it and it's gonna survive even short term then you're wrong. All the E85 in the world isn't gonna save that engine. And like I said, these are glory numbers. These shops say they do this and that but they don't tell you that they dialed it back by a shit load or that the engine blew up 2 months later. THAT is why all the Coyotes making over 750 are on a built engine and a very few of them are on the stock engine.

You should have upgraded to the D1SC head unit when you bought yours. It is less than $300 to upgrade and it is completely worth the money. The P1SC is ok but I would never get one. And I'm telling you, if you push your engine that far, it will fail on you. Be ready to buy another engine or have a built one on stand-by because it will happen.

Incorrect not all coyotes over 750 are built. GT350 is 12:1 not 13:1 and that GT350 is still out there alive and kicking. Do I recommend 1000whp on a coyote or voodoo, hell no, but to say you must be built to go 750 is incorrect. They do recommend on Gen 2 to upgrade the oil pump gears at or above 750 depending on how high you are revving and if youre using pump gas or E85, but its a recommendation. I didnt get my kit from a vendor, I bought it new from a guy who was selling his car and had the kit in his garage unopened, heavily discounted. Had I gone with a vendor yes, I wouldve gone D1, but for the price I got I cant complain for a new kit. Like I said, my goal is simple, 10.5 or better. Thats completely doable for a P1.

Some sources say 13.0:1 and others say 12.0:1 and I don't care enough to look it up any more than what I last saw. And no, I'm not incorrect. And I didn't say ALL Coyotes over 750 are built. I said that all the ones I have seen are. Some aren't but I haven't seen them and they sure as hell aren't DD or seeing the track on a regular basis. And if they are then it won't last long at all. But hey, you go ahead and think what you want. You'll find out soon enough. I've been around long enough to know BS when I hear it. And everyone talking that "I've had X hp to the wheels for yada yada and no problems ever" are hiding something or a lot of somethings. People boast and brag about the HP they make but you'll never hear it when they snap a rod or blow a hole thru a piston. And shops will tell you all about stock this and stock bottom end that and how they threw a blower on it and it made this or that...but they will never talk about how that customer came back with a blown engine 3 months later. But hey it's your car and your money. You can do whatever you like with it. Just make sure you have a spare car and/or an extra engine ready.

Stop lying, it's 12:1, no reputable magazine has said 13:1. Stop worriying about what I have in case this that or the other. It's not my only vehicle. I'm trying to figure out what makes people think that a modern car with say 750hp isn't daily drivable? If you stay out of boost these cars, camaros, corvettes, vipers, challengers, chargers and the list goes on, drive just fine. Will your mpg suffer a bit if you run e85 and have a long commute to work? Sure but if tuned properly it will drive fine besides being loud (if you're one of those that likes the whole catless/muffler delete stuff). I put 16k in my mustang in the first year, now drive it roughtly 6-7k per year. Only reason why I don't drive it more is to avoid door dings, rock chips and accidents.

Not liking the DI/PI, bump in compression and speed density on the 2018s. We'll see if they are as flexible with boost as the 15-17. But for the typical NA weekend warrior it will be a nice car.

Not sure how this thread became an argument over heavily modded cars. I’m pretty sure magazines will test these cars as they come from the factory. You can make a geo metro fast, when you’re talking modded cars you’re just playing a game where the deepest pockets wins

1 - I don't have to lie to you about anything. 2 - I don't have to prove anything to you...otherwise I'd post the source that said 13.0:1. But like I said, I don't care. And 3 - I don't care enough about the Shelby to look up what it's GD compression ratio is. 12.0:1, 13.0:1, 15.0:1, 9.0:1, I don't care. But I will tell you that those engines will blow the **** up at the boost level it would take to make that kind of power to the wheels. The best tuner with all the meth, E85, pixie dust, or ****in magic powder in the universe couldn't save that engine from going Chernobyl if you boost it that much. And I don't care what you do with your car and your money. Hell, you wanna detonate your engine like Hiroshima then be my guest. And nobody said it wasn't driveable. I said it won't last even on a short term basis as a DD. Sure you can put the biggest blower on the planet on an engine and "stay out of boost" and it'll be fine. How often do you stay out of boost BTW? And that is where your 5.0 will blow up. And that is a gimmick these shops have been using. They tell you "oh we made this much hp on this engine"...but they don't tell you that after a few WOT runs your rods will be sticking out the side of the block. Or they don't tell you that they had to dial it back by a significant amount of hp so the rods won't pop a hole in the block. But like I said, do what you want. You'll just be another Coyote owner with a built engine.

I go into boost when I feel its necessary, when someone lines up or at the track. Bone stock motor here and its making you mad.

In Jan 2015 SVT Performance said 12.5:1 and in Oct 2015 Motor Trend said 13.0:1. So there was some previous misinformation reported.

That sounds exactly what's happening here, people guessing what numbers will be without concrete info.

Ah, the typical "and it's making you mad" comment...because yea, I'm really mad. If anything you're FOS. You're at safe boost levels with a P1SC (which is the most entry level blower there is) right now. And I know plenty of people who stay within the safe boost range and hp range. And that isn't 800 to the wheels or 750. Get a bigger blower and start pushing your engine over 750 and watch what happens.

Right, and it was a reliable source, 2 reliable sources that reported it. Yet you're sitting here calling me a liar when I said that was what was reported. How do your words taste now that you're eating them. And regardless, none of us care what the compression in the turd is anyway. I'm just stating the fact that it is a high compression engine revving over 8000 RPMs and if you think you can DD it on the stock internals pushing enough boost to make well over 800 hp or at high boost like you're saying then you're wrong. Those numbers you posted are nothing but glory numbers. Put that car on the street in that condition and it won't last long at all.
