I think the 15-17 GT looks good. I haven't seen the 18s in person yet so I'll hold off on my opinion of them. I also think the GT350(R) looks good. And I think they are good cars if you buy one and leave it the hell alone except for small things like CAIs, catbacks, and such. But once you start modding it and making more power and hooking is when everything starts to go. Which sucks since it is a high 12 low 13 sec car. If it truly was a low 12 then that would be different.

If you read my comment before you opened your mouth you would have seen that I said the car is fine if all you do is a catback, intake and tune. Funny how you do all this talking defending Mustangs and I probably owned more Stangs and modded more of them than you have.

I disagree with "put the power down well with a tire". I have never owned the auto Mustang but did have a manual one and the wheel hop got worse the better the tires I put on were. With different halfshafts and some suspension mods sure it will put power down very well but in stock form.....yikes. I am much more interested in the suspension changes and torque control changes on the 3rd gen Coyote with PP and PP2 than I am anything else. 25hp and 20ft pounds increase in the 5.0 is great and all but the real weakness of the s550 is in the chassis, suspension, and factory tune. |

Now maybe my 15 GT was a lemon. Maybe the factory put on 2 left side halfshafts or two right side halfshafts and made my back end oscillate like a tuning fork. Maybe my 17 SS is a unicorn with minimal wheel hop. Or, maybe I actually know what I am talking about and 1000s of others who switched this gen know what they are talking about. Yes in the aftermarket you can fix the wheel hop. And in the aftermarket you can fix the bad stock tune. And in the aftermarket you can fix the damn manual shifter bracket and all the other things that I never had to do on any other car ever. |
