I have tracked my 10-speed Auto and it's been more than exemplary. Last edited by Mr. Meh; 09-27-2017 at 08:54 AM. |

I mean, it's sort of the adulthood version of "I go to the bathroom all by myself!" . . . until you get really old anyway, and can't do either anymore, but I digress. |

My post was directed at three of you that seem to always go back and forth on this. Though you mentioned you use the ignore button, good stuff.

Now, if the commentary was just friendly jabs, it wouldn't be taken as insultingly as it is. But, that's not the case. It's consistently a chest beating I'm better than you attitude and it's gone on way longer than it should and quite frankly, I'm just sick of putting up with it. It's unneeded. If there was a true heating issue with the car, we'd have seen it by now. |

I'd like to actually drive the manual version of the car to see how it compares. Just don't know anyone locally I can do that with. Only manuals I know are SS 1LEs. |

So the Transmission is overheating and not the engine here? No relation to the high heat of the engine transferring to the trans?
If the two were related I would make a case for GM to NEVER put such a tiny blower on and wind it up to compensate for the smaller size, in order to pass the previous 6.2L Supercharged GM engine (LS9 - 638 HP). |

Sounds to me like the fluid level issue. It probably doesn't have much tolerance for not perfect levels.

My car was the one that Gm found the overfilled trans on. We flushed the system 2 times and made sure the fluid was at correct level. I took the car to summit point after and it ran fine it was around 80 degrees. I was just at Pittrace with my Viper and my wife drove up the zl1 A10 and i took it out for a few laps 3 times. Second time i went out i got 5 laps in then heard a very loud chime like the door chime. Screen said Transmission Overheated Idle Car, or something of that nature. Did a cool down lap and brought the car in. It was about 88 Degrees out and I can drive the car at its limit pretty easily. Im pretty disappointed that its over heating at 5 laps in at 88 degrees. Not sure what to do at this point as the A10 is a wonderful transmission. This problem isnt gonna happen on the street or in cooler weather on track. I think 85 degrees plus it starts becoming an issue if your running really hard, im guessing at 90-100 anyone could overheat it. Coolant temp was really good oil temp are really high as well.

What is it again GM claims they use for their engineering target? Like 80 or 82 degrees? It could be different for each model, but I thought it was around that for the C7.

Not sure i think its 86 degrees, alot of cars was running hot this weekend, my viper acr was running hot 5-6 laps in as well as my buddies viper acr, 1 c7 z06 went into limp mode after 7 laps or so, and another c7z power steering kept locking up from overheating, and 2 friends with z28s was running really high oil temps, one got message after 15 mins in the other was getting to 305, but was ac delete car so probably cools slightly better he never got a warning. The morning sessions seemed to be fine, most of it was in the afternoon, it was hot around 88 degrees and sunny, so the temps off the track was probably well into the 100's by the afternoon. I try not to track as much in the summer as these temps are rough on cars, it was unusually hot this weekend for september.
