Yeah, I am not concerned it will do any harm...just wanted to make sure it wasn't just my car lol. It really isn't noticeable under most driving circumstances anyway.

I still would love to find the root cause, and upgrade whatever would need to be. Like if it needs stiffer motor mounts, I would be all for that.

Since it's so common, I'd really like Chevrolet to tell us what is is and issue a TSB to resolve it.

This isn't something that is TSB worthy. Will some find it annoying, yeah, but if it poses no harm to the car, which it doesn't, (and they all seem to do it) you won't see a TSB for it.

But I agree with 1LEMATT, that if we knew the cause of it was something like motor mounts, I'd swap them out too.

I felt the same issue... My dealer and a performance shop I know both claim its the result of the DOD transitioning, its typically followed by a change in exhaust sound as well on my 1LE. They claim nothing is wrong at all. Hate the shake tho

DOD? Displacement on demand? Not on the manual cars so no 1LE has this.

You may want to find another dealer and performance shop lol.

1- Manuals don't have active DOD.
2- Even if they did, it wouldn't be activated in any way during harder acceleration.

Yes! I have noticed this too! I thought I was nuts lol...I am guessing by all the members that say they feel it as well that this is considered "normal".

BUT do we have a root cause? Is it really the style/durometer of the motor/trans mounts?

Just thought I'd add my own observation here. For me it's the same as the rest, 3rd and 4th, although I think it's worse in 4th than 3rd. Also, it's not just acceleration, I get it if I engine brake in 4th gear as well, so it happens in both directions. Though on regular roads it's hard to really notice the engine braking occurence, I really noticed it distinctly when I was driving on some glassy smooth brand new asphalt that was extremely quiet and vibration-free otherwise.

Would like to know a fix, as the feeling is bothersome. If it's just replacing some driveline mounts with something stiffer, I'm game.

It seems like everyones does this, some may just not have picked up on it, or who knows...but while it may be somewhat annoying to some at times, not sure if it will warrant a new/upgraded part to be made. It's just not that big of a deal to most I gather. But like you, I'm game...IF we knew for sure where it comes from, which we don't. Motor/trans mounts at this point are just speculation...and not sure how we could narrow it down as under most circumstances it doesn't do it.

I’m with you on this. Does mine do this?... Yes. Does it bother me?... Not really. Would I spend a lot of money to figure it out and elimate it?... No way.

It actually does bother me a bit. Makes it feel like there's something "wrong" with the car. I just want to know from GM why it does this.

It is just some sort of NVH/resonant vibration from the drivetrain that is brought about by some specific frequency under certain rpm's and loads. That's even what GM would tell you. Many cars have this, it may just not be in a noticeable range while driving, or it may be better dampened or insulated. Remember our cars are performance cars, so that means less of all the stuff that would normally block something like this. Motor Trend even mentioned some NVH was noticeable in this range during their SS vs M4 test video, and they said "it fit the brash nature of the car". So they surprisingly actually didn't care at all.

Now, even with that being said, even though it really doesn't bother me, as I don't drive in that range all that much (leisurely driving is below it, and hardcore driving is above it), sometimes I do hit it though, like merging a little hard on the highway. So if we knew for sure what it was, and it was something we could swap out (like mounts) I would be game, as they wouldn't be too much money to eliminate the issue. But unless someone is the guinea pig, or somehow tests for the source, I doubt there will ever be a resolution. The rest of the car is so badass, I don't even dwell on such a minor thing, especially being that it is "normal" and on everyone else's too.

I agree with all of this, it's minor and nottttttta big deal. But I too would pony up for a fix if it was something like changing the motor mounts for a reasonable price if that would eliminate it.
