I am visiting a contact today that has a 1000hp build going to bring up this crank walk issue to him. I pray this isn't the issue now that my warranty is hosed.

@Brettman did it this morning still sliding good.

Every day I get home and battery reads about 66% charge.

Sounds like bad battery cell (load test would show that) OR a parasite draw.

Hopefully it's not the problem that the other guy posted about the M6 cars having an issue. If it that issue, then it's related to the M6, not the Whipple. Secondly, if this an issue with the M6 cars--you need to fight it with GM--the Whipple had nothing to do with it.

Mini high torque starter being recommended.

But one step I'm going to do is pull that belt and see if the screws turn nice. I think they will since it turns over great when motor is cold in the AM.

Any more info on this?

I was told the engine is just fine no crankshaft walk mentioned here thankfully.

Called Summit Racing and after a little back and forth I decided to toss a little money at this.. and for the money it will future proof the cranking for any mods going forward. This mini starter can handle 18:1 compression:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...t/model/camaro

Should have it installed prob. Wed. Will chime in with some before after vids.

It is embarrassing. Was at gas station talking to a dude about the car go to start it and sounded like a WWI plane engine after being manually spun, maybe a pull cord would assist in the drivers seat LOL LOL!!!

A drivers seat pull cord. Could be legit. Cut a little hole in the driver finder. Seriously it'll be the new fender exhaust.

I was hoping maybe just bearings but was there a cause or any contributing factors? Any other occurrences?

Mine isn't as bad now but I'm also looking into a smaller stronger starter. I wonder how the MSD starter compares to the one you are getting.
