Ok, I usually stay silent, but as I read all this (and am currently deciding which to get), I remember my 1989 RS with the optional V8 engine. That was the most powerful car I have ever owned and was quite a bit of power. If I understand things correctly, the current V6 would eat the 89 for breakfast. I think the 0-60 was about 6 seconds for the 89 RS. This seems like it is more than enough power for most folks. But if it fits in your pocket book, I don't see a negative to the current V8. This seems like a situation where it is a win-win no matter which you decide.

If this dude wants to blow half his check on his SS thats one thing, but to criticize and de-mean people who are trying to live within their means and have alittle fun with a V6 is altogether different... Not everyone needs 455 + HP to be happy. 335 HP is more than enough power to enjoy a DAILY DRIVER.. It's just as dis-respectful to demean other people's investments just because you think everyone needs a V8. If he doesn't like the V6's thats fine, but to criticize others over their financial decisions when they may indeed have alot more on their plate but still want a "Camaro" thats different. Not everyone can feasibly afford an SS..and there are some who even can but have no need for the functions of an SS on the street.
Honest question...do you have a learning disorder that makes it hard to read? 16% < 50%. My car payment is 16% of my monthly income. I would never knock someone for getting the car they can afford. People that can (or say they can) afford a higher trim yet settle for a lower one...those are the ones I give a hard time. Why? Because if all you care about is a peppy daily driver...the Camaro is a very odd choice.

Bro you need to calm down. I don't know if your not satisfied with your car or what your situation is but you really need to let's go man. I know it pains you deep down in your heart that the V6 is just so damn good. For some reason that hurts you and you just can't accept how good it is because it's Beastly for a V6 and that's fine as far as your finances go that's your personal business spend your money on what you like but definitely stop bashing The Beastly V6.

Now your car is faster you spent and continue to spend during the whole life of ownership more money on it hopefully you actually take it to the track and get use of that extra power but seriously man the V6 is a beast

I'm not sure the V6 can legitimately be called a "beast". My 2008 Nissan 350z had a V6 putting out similar power and almost 10 years older. In a lighter package, that old beater could put up a nice fight against a Gen6 V6. Just sayin'...

I daily drive my car (my only car) but I know it's not a practical daily driver. I wanted something fast that I can take to the track. The fact that it only has two usable seats and a tiny trunk make it very impractical. I would get a 4 door Cadillac ATS if I wanted a nice daily driver with decent power.

What the difference in price you're comparing than so that car does 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds and its prices at lunch are as follows in u.s. dollars which looks like it's definitely more in comparison with the Camaro SS as far as price goes but hey apples to oranges eh

Oh and just so we're clear the Camaro will beat it

le Original MSRP / Price Horse Power
2dr Roadster Auto Enthusiast $37,280.00 / N/A 306
2dr Cpe Auto Grand Touring $37,740.00 / N/A 306
2dr Roadster Man Touring $38,630.00 / N/A 306
2dr Cpe Man Nismo $38,680.00 / N/A 306

You didn't get the base manual price which was $28.5K. But then when you add inflation....$32K. Always thought those 350Z/370Zs were overpriced and underperforming.

You telling me they charged 10 grand for an automatic maybe you can Enlighten us on what the base manual came with was it still hitting 5.3 second 0 to 60? I got to say that's why I buy domestic 10 G's for an auto crazy.

Don't cherry-pick:

2dr Cpe Man $28,510.00 / N/A N/A 306

That's the one I had. And I did race a Gen5 V6 and beat it. Wish I had a shot against a gen6 now. There was a black gen5 Z28 that taught me a lesson though.

Not exactly on topic here, but you guys should make sure you read this comparison review. While it's the 2.0T LT in the review, the part about swapping out the crappy A/S tires on the LT to an actual performance tire makes quite a point. You guys don't even need the 1LE to be more potent in handling, just some good tires.

No but Nissan is funny with trims. Here's the "base" auto MSRP

2dr Cpe Auto Enthusiast - $31.2K

Don't forget that's 2008 dollars. Gen 5 V6 is not nearly as athletic as the Gen6 one either.

Um...
The V6 1le holds Car & Drivers historic Lightening lap record for cars that have a base price of $35k or less. Not only does it own that record the second place car is + 11 seconds. So yes... It OWNS that record.
