Do I like that I get windshield condensation and a slightly ill fitting headliner? Absolutely NOT, and it shouldn't have that for $40+K. But, I didn't buy this car for Mercedes fit and finish. When I wind it out, or slam it into a corner, it's like, "What headliner/fogging"?

I went to Hobby Lobby and looked at all the stuff they have, trying to build something on the fly. Get some heavy stock paper, they have various sizes and colors, choose a color close to dash color, find some double stick tape, they have various types. Cut a template of the vent using scrape paper, to get size, cover the red security light also. The vent has a small boarder around the whole vent assy. Use double stick tape around edge of cut paper, cut hole for security light, double stick around edge. The double stick tape should be tacky enough to seal edge and stop cold air from drifting onto windshield. My vent doesn't feel like a high force of cold air, but some cold air does exit. I haven't cut, built, this yet, but in theory, it might work.

Maybee Chevrolet Customer Service lurking around on this forum will see this, and have GM design engineers, build something like this for a fix/repair.

When I read it in another thread, I did almost exactly this using vinyl wall base I got from Home Depot for a few bucks.

Used a piece of cardboard to make a template, transferred the shape to the vinyl, cut it out with a scissors. The black vinyl blends well with the dash and the lip molded into the vinyl keeps it in place.

I was all done in 20 minutes for $5 and it works great!

Respectfully, the point is, we shouldn't have to lay a piece of vinyl in the windshield of a 2016-17 vehicle.

Oh, I definitely agree, in no way was I trying to justify Chevy's f-up with our cars' HVAC system. How something like that wasn't caught in testing is unacceptable. Someone in testing got lazy.

Just wanted to say there is a quick/easy/cheap workaround to the issue. No, it's certainly not ideal, but it works.

If I see it starting to fog up I hit the defroster on high heat for a few minutes and it clears right up. I crack the windows so I get fresh air circulating.

Never had this issue on my 16 s s. Just got a zl1 and started noticing it today with the a/c on, although, it has been raining a lot and it very humid. My condensation is on the outside though, not inside. Wipers cleans it away..

Had the repair work done (removing foam blocks). And I figured out that it only fogs up (and much less than it did before)if I go with the following settings:

- Temp lower than 71
- Fan higher than 4 lights

If I go more extreme than that, then I get the 2 spots over the vent and they're each about 2.5" wide

Sounds like you have the same results bad me. An improvement but not a complete fix.

Well it looks like I'm going tomorrow morning to Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet in Ft. Lauderdale to find out their recommendation on the condensation issue. I got all the "ammo" from the threads on this site. I hate the thought of removing anything from the car but as a "daily driver" the condensation issue really becomes a pain and it's somewhat embarrassing especially with my buddies that happen to drive Mustangs. I'll update my post later.

I see this is an old thread but headed In with my 17 on wed. Also, anyone know anywhere you can lookup service bulletins by Vin? I have had several fixed the last 2 weeks and want to get them all do t this time before warranty expires.
