New LTG on the Block

What's up everyone!

Been lurking for the last few months. Picked up my Camaro last week.

2018 1LT - A8
HP Cool/Brake
20 Low Gloss
Bose/8"

I come from the Cobalt world, but haven't been active in years. Still have my 06 SS/SC, went by Edubs on SS.net. Looking forward to contributing where I can. Have plans to base-line dyno this week at my friend's shop and also drop my car off to Tracey at RX Performance soon as he wants to create his catch can option but needs a test mule.

Thanks all. I don't have any big plans for it yet, made that mistake with the Cobalt when Ibought it in 2006 and it became a black hole. Now that car has Darton Sleeves, Diamond Pistons, P&P head, GT3071R and just about any supporting mod you could think of.

At this point, I plan to upgrade the downpipe, add a catch-can and buy the GMPP intake/tune when it comes out. I have HPT but will probably datalog for a while to get used to it before I dabble in tuning it. This VVT and TDI stuff is foreign to me, lol...

Welcome to the community. Be careful @ RX Performance they're not well respected around here anymore for good reason but I hope they turn their shit around honestly they used to make some good shit.

Thanks.

I am well aware of the history with Tracey's shop and the industry. I'm simply doing it for the community so there is another option. His customer service and turn around time have a bad rep but his catch cans are top notch and comparable to ones like Elite (what I run on the slobalt). I am not even buying one from him right now, just letting him use my car for mock-up. If he offers the finished product to me for a deep discount I will likely pay him and keep it. Just works out for him because I am going to be on my friend's dyno Friday after work and I can just leave the car with him to play with Saturday (their shops are across from one another).

At the end of th day, I hope he is able to re-establish his rep and work things out. The more collaboration and products the better for our community. I like supporting local businesses. Thanks for the heads up though, this is just one of the few times where I am actually in the know.

Cool, just looking out for you. I don't know every shop but I know RX's rep very well from my years on Camaro5.com hope it does work out for him in the long run. I think taking on smaller projects like catch cans may be a good move for him after the issues from the 5th Gen and other customers.

Yeah, I didn't mean to come off as a dick, sorry. I tend to do that. Hazard of my line of work...

I do appreciate the heads up.

Any chance your going to dyno after downpipe?
I most likely will. I have three kids and work 55 hours a week so my free time is limited. It may be a while before I get the downpipe on and dyno. I expect without a tune that I will take a hit on the back half of the graph due to the stock ecm cal.

I was really hoping the GMPP intake would be out by now so I could dyno it shortly after my base-line and before the cat. But I am not going to wait forever so I will probably just order a zzp cat less dp soon...

You didn't come off as a dick at all besides if you've been lurking for a few months you'll know I ruffle feathers every so often. Sometimes unintentionally other times for shits and giggles.

It's good to see people helping vendors develop products if I didn't live in the Northeast US i'd have volunteered all the time as it is I atleast can confirm the JacFab 3" CP and 72mm TB do in fact work you just need to add another set of lock nuts to keep them from loosening over time I found.

I plan to help where I can, with having access to a dyno and all. I'm a Service Advisor at the local Chevy Dealership so I can help looking up parts and whatnot as well...

I can respect that. We'll see what comes out of him having my car. He's just really close to me and put out a request for a donor car so I figured why the hell not...
