Its hard to say from a numbers perspective. What are they giving for your trade and what is the purchase price? Is the car new/punched/or used? Any paintwork?

 not only you're getting a more track ready car with tons of extras but also you're getting a newer MY car also $4k difference is stupidly inexpensive for all that

I wanted to thank everybody for their opinion
 The deal is real and truly good. The last thing I'll have to think about is the 'politics' at work , showing up with a new car...again. But that's a different headache

If it was just a 'fun' car, it would be a no-brainer for you, better track car for sure. However, since you would be daily commuting with it, in DC no less, you'll need to consider how much that is going to suck ~5 times a week, balanced against the improvement on road courses that you'll feel over your normal SS.
