Love hate relationship with my Recaros.

Yes, they're awesome but as much as I try to get in and out without crushing the side of the seat bolster (been pretty successful so far), I've noticed that the leather on the tip of the side bolster is starting to show wear after only 4000 miles. I really wish we had memory seats that would move back and forth like a 2SS to get in and out easier... I'm 49 and can only be so acrobatic. I may have to start moving the seat forward and back every time (total PIA) just to save my bolsters.

I'm thinking maybe some leather conditioner with a tad of black shoe polish may bring it back but dang.

Already showing wear?! That is a shame. I havent picked mine up yet but will have to think of a solution if it comes to be an issue for me.

I am a big guy, 6' 2" and over 250 pounds...granted I only have about 1500 miles on mine so far, but no seat wear at all. But, I swing my legs over and out first, then climb out. That seems to be working...

Yea, even though I'm careful, apparently my beltline rubs the forward edge of the side bolster as I rotate in or out of the car over the side bolster that it's starting to fade the color a little bit. Be careful folks. There's nothing worse than a nice car with messed up bolsters.

I slide the seat back and forth every time. I kind of wish we had manual seats so it wouldn't take so long and I could get back to the same exact spot every time.

I count as I hold the button... 1.. 2.. and then the same the other way. Then I know it's the same.

+1 On the memory seats. It is a huge PIA getting in and out but as you mentioned moving the seat back helps slot. Definitely concerned with premature wear and bolster becoming "broken". But what are you going to do...drive the damn thing

I do the same, plus I have slipped a black t-shirt over the seat back to help prevent wear to the side of the seat bolsters, since I kind of slide against it getting in.

Meh, I can't be bothered doing that. If I ever saw any wear on my seat I would just have an upholstery shop fix the section...I've had that done before on another car. Wasn't a big deal, or that expensive.

I have noticed similar wear on mine. It is bothersome, but as SS 1LE said, I will just have the local upholstery place repair it after time.

I did noticed that the most damaging thing is the rivets on jeans. They are in just the right place to drag across the bolster, and my steering wheel at times, and they do the most damage. I just do my best to not go dragging them over it if I can.

There are guys that can re-dye and condition leather seats. They come out great. I saw it on wheeler dealers!

Maybe you should consider no more meals that involve combos, sizes, and numerical designations. Would help in more ways than getting out of your car.

Doesn't sound like your issue is with the Recaros as much as you'd be better suited in a Buick with their sliding seats so your fat ass can climb out of the car.

HAHA jk, it's really tight getting into and out of this car, but once in, it's worth it.

Dude, I'm, 5'8" 175 lbs... not exactly a fat azz. I did like my Buick Rainier though. Miss that truck!
