I ran 161.7 MPH earlier this month in my '17 ZL1 A10 at the Battle Creek Speedfest in Michigan. Same scenario, 1/2 mile timed run, no burnouts, standing start at the Kellogg airport.....

The morning session I was in the 159.XX's and the afternoon session I was in the 161.XX's........

It was a blast!

Enjoy!

225kph last year in the pouring rain with the wipers going. Lots of fun.
FYI, they have a huge metal plate that you can back onto at the end of the runway so you can do a burnout to warm up the tires without damaging the runway.
I will for sure, looking forward to what your beast will do on dry pavement!
Thanks for the heads up on the 'burnout box' that's news to me

Id like to see what I would run in a 1/2. I ran a 14.2 @ 98 mph at CF7. That was my best run. No burnout on runflats.

You really need a quick burn out at the dragstrip. Even just a quick 3 second burn out to clean the crap off the tires and hopefully get them slightly sticky. On street tires you do run the risk of overheating the tire quickly and making them greasy.

After the experience Kevin and I had at the strip at CF7. Mine, at least doesn't have the power to fight through the sticky track WITHOUT a burnout. I was getting zero wheelspin at all. I kept TCS on. Once I start adding more power, a burnout would likely be necessary; but for the results I am looking for now, and the amount of power I am putting down, the burnout was not necessary and I actually think may have hurt my time a little bit had I done it. Rolling up to the staging line, was like driving over molasses. I have run a 5.4 0-60 on the street multiple times, and the best I got on the track was 6.1 and the worst I got was 6.5.

I agree that for serious drag racers, and for cars with more power, absolutely a burnout is necessary (especially to your point of cleaning them off) but for me, right now, I think I would get worse times with a burnout, but only a test will tell.

Kev and I wanted to run the staging lanes

Ya street tires on that dragstrip that day weren't ideal for anything. Kept both of us from 13s runs given the times we did do and the consistent 0-60mph we do everyday.

Staging lane run would've been a blast lol.

Sweet. I'm hoping to get to the dragstrip here in NH a few times before September but doubtful until then.

Run#1,2,3 top to bottom.

Run 2 was a better launch (runway dried out), but it was much warmer out...car sat for about 1 1/2 hours between each run with the hood open.

Run 3 was my best launch yet, but I missed my 2-3 shift

...whoops, sorry for the sideways pic; forgot to shrink it

Thanks!

This was the first of any kind of event I've ever done and it was a blast

The bug has bit hard... Again

Forgot to add that the car also felt to pull timing (easily noticed) breifly in forth on the 3rd run...
