Not sure if sarcastic or not lol but that's because it is completely illegal to do and EPA can/will fine a ridiculous amount, shut down the business AND jail time. Considering you are in Cali... Good luck lol. I got mine done in Mexico so I am good

But they aren't secondary cats, they are RESONATORS! Tell them you want them to delete the resonators...

Anyone here do the secondary delete with Borla S types? Looking for a bit more volume and curious what others think after doing this. Hesitant to just cut them out......cant find videos of this setup anywhere.

I have the secondary delete Borla X pipe and the S-Type Rear. SOUNDS AMAZING. If you get both sections from Borla you do not have to cut any of the stock exhaust. It is a true bolt on. But again this ONLY true if you get the Borla secondary cat delete x pipe and the rear section (S-Type or ATAK).

My S-Type is definitely louder than usual with the 2nd cats removed. But the tone is very deep and pure. I think this setup sounds better than the ATAK but is just as loud.

@silkx3, if that particular shop refuses to touch the "resonators", just try a different shop. there are many to choose from in so cal, you'll find one eventually.

so long story short my dealer was repairing my vehicle after being rear ended. Insurance OK'd the Borla catback but dealer seemed concerned about install. I figured they would freak out removing the secondary cats so I got the 60607 mid pipes. Shouldve got 60606 (assuming thats what you have). I called Borla up last week asking if I could just buy PN 60626 (which appears to be the cat delete) and they said no and that they don't make anything that I can purchase and just bolt in.

The front pipes from the 60606 and 60607 can be interchanged, but Borla themselves will not sell the pieces separately as a business decision. I inquired about ordering a spare set of front pipes for my 60609 for when I wanted to do my header install but still keep the ability to revert back to catback only exhaust. Borla insisted they would not sell the pieces individually. They gave no reason, but I think they probably do not want people to just buy their cat delete front pipes because then that would allow people to retain the OEM xpipe and suit case and reduce their market share. It could also be a support issue as they cannot guarantee how their pieces would be welded into place to the OEM x pipe.

So what you (and borla) are saying is PN 60625 and PN 60626 are not the front piece from the 60606 and 60607? The pics look identical. Im still confused as to what could be different
