Modified cars being pitted against each other somehow relates to their original performance off the factory floor. That's news to me.

So stop buying into this track PR. Buy the best car for you to perform in the venue you Will use it in. Ensure that it has the comfort and appearance that you prefer. My guess is that straight line performance will be so close it will depend on the driver.
I know your love for Dodge leads you to say such things but beyond the power deficit, Ford had some serious shortcomings in the 15-17 GT that are noticeable on the street.

But when you start to draw comparisons about those dynamic attributes so essential to driver satisfaction, the Chevrolet exposes the Ford’s vulnerable spots; simply put, the Mustang GT is softer than the Camaro SS. The Mustang leans in corners. Under acceleration, the haunches squat and the hood rears back. The slightly slow, fixed-rate 16.0:1 steering hides a small dead spot on-center, and despite wider tires, there’s not as much front-end grip as in the Camaro. That makes the Mustang more prone to understeer and less willing to rotate under throttle.
It sounds like the gap will be closed for model year 18 and choosing between the SS and GT will be a matter of cost and personal taste.

Dodge on the other hand continues to fall further behind. From the same comparison

We left the Dodge Challenger on the bench for this test. After its third-place finish in our December 2014 comparison, where a similarly equipped Mustang took the gold, we knew where the Challenger would place in this round. If it wants to run with these two athletes, Dodge needs to cut the fat. The Challenger is more than nine inches longer than either car here and weighs some 400 pounds more.

No, dodge just could give a **** less about making the challenger handle like a Camaro or mustang.....big, comfortable, and fast in a straight line, that's all they care about.

I guess you didn't take it for a test drive before buying? Or is your whole story BS? Based on your posting history, i'd say the latter.

I didn't care for the 5th gen myself. I found it very underwhelming. I found my G8 GT to be better. The L99 left a lot to be desired. I ended up with a 13 GT which I loved. Wish I still had that car. I would have no problem picking up a 16+ SS though, they definitely improved upon the 5th gen greatly. I enjoyed my 15 GT as well, just for some reason loved my 13 more. Much happier back in a V8 sedan though.

my s550 was my last ever mustang.own

i cannot drive a car that has a floaty rear end and driveline vibrations..u can keep it ..

even if the new s550 had 2000 bhp..if it drives like the model i owned i DO NOT WANT IT..if ford cant buiild a mustang that can drive half as good as a cheap hyundai then wtf are they doing building cars,

i did a 400 mile round trip today in my hyundai..lot of it about 100mph..effortless at 100..one finger..no tramlining. no hood flutter..100mph in the s550 is horrendous..
If you thought your 2013 Camaro drove better than the S550 then you are an ......

Couple highlights from the Swedish troll's time on the mustang forum under Pong Lenis. Note to mods this guy is a troll. Drew Peacock is his clever way of referencing large sex appendage.

hahahah.
camaro gen5 is a great car.
s550 ofc is a little better

11/27/ 2016
10 years ago we built the house and have removed over 100k from the loan..50k to go..
best be prepared for the worst i say..

Thought you said you paid off your house? Took you 10 years to pay off 100k and you're going to pay of 50k in 6 months?

12/02/16
the back end of the new camaro is hideous looking.
i still prefer the gen 5 for looks.

plus u mod a car here you'll never sell it..2018 i will be buying a new one.. (mustang)

12/11/16
i tell u this now the s550 is light years ahead of the s197 in everyway possible.
imho the s197 is a dangerous death trap of a car..
i would never own another one..the gen5 camaro was a revelation after my 2010 mustang gt.
at last a car than go over 100mph safely
at last a car i can go round corners without risking my life.

lucky imho the s550 is a littler better than my old camaro..it's close but it is better..well done ford i say

12/11/16
many said to me oh your camaro was nicer..
i said not everything we buy is just for looks.

ofc most haters cant even afford a skateboard let alone a dream car so i just ignore them

12/11/16 How many mustangs have you owned?

4 in the last 6 years
3 s197's and my new one

12/08/16
i have driven many cars in my life..my bosses have a new bmw and audi..
the s550 is an amazing car for peanuts really.
ford nailed it for sure
..i owned a few s197's and a 2013 camaro ss before my new baby.
camaro is close to the s550..s550 is more sure footed ,faster, handles better and has a way better interior

01/02/17
ok cool
as long as your loaded i suppose it dont matter..i'll not touch mine and get a 2018 mustang or camaro..

s550 owner i would say lol...
house is paid off .i owe nothing to know body...hard to love a car when it first comes out...after seeing a few gen6 camaros i simply love them.
gen5 camaro wipes the floor with the s550..told you the honeymoon period soon faded with that mustang.

listen ok..right i have driven over 2000 000 miles since 1980.
i have driven thousands of cars...
i tell u now the gen5 camaro is a way better dd car..way smoother and easier to drive.
more comfortable. handles better. has a much better motor for daily driving.suspension is way way better
i dont give a hoot about performance...if i want to go fast i'll buy a bmw s1000rr bike and smash cars with ease.
i buy a car that drives nice above all else..then having some power is nice. but having no power under 5000 rpm is not nice

Pretty bored alright, great way to spend an hour on a Sunday exposing the lies of a super troll. But to call me pathetic after all your contradictions, lol. Crazy thing is you're not aware of your own delirium. If I posted all that on the mustang forum and someone posted it up I'd be so embarrassed I'd never post here again. Four s197's and an s550 in a 7 year period and you bash and bash the mustang ?

I'm considering a 1 le if the price gets right, paid 29.5 k on this mustang and fell in love at first sight. Never paid this much for a car ever and already wanting more power.

The thing I wonder about the Camaro is can you supercharge these things for 7 to 10 k like the s550 and just scream?

Sorry Chevy Fans, no hate I just came over here randomly and I live within one mile of a ford and chevy dealership. Always been tempted by both machines, just couldn't believe the moderators here tolerated such brand hate. I wouldn't be surprised if the site owners own mustang6g.

I also hate brand mongering.

One of my earliest memories was walking into a neighborhood adjacent to mine with a friend and the neighborhood bully asking whether I liked Ford or Chevy more. I was a kid, never drove either but dad had a crappy old f250 at the time and I told the kid Ford.

That was enough for said bully to try to fight myself and my friend. Then I have to read forum troll trash 30 years later on a forum. Don't feel bad for me peacock, I empathize with the lesser minded but doesn't mean I won't call em out.

have you test drove a gen6?
i did a few months ago...wow such a nice car...biggest plus point over the s550 was the ride..so smooth and effortless.i came close to trading my s550 there and then..but thought nope lets pay off our mortgage..was a tough choice. thing is july here in sweden is over half way through the season..i can make desisions at the drop of a hat..decided to pay it off..the wife was real happy..not broke now but cant buy a camaro just yet. parting with 60k aint that easy for a working class man
that s550 drove me mad after a few months..never owned a car that made me sea sick..
worst suspension on any car i have owned. s197 was better in that respect. although the s197 is a worse car. 1975 suspension those things have lol..shocking in fact.
our house now..
i sleep like a baby at night now knowing we own our house outright

my 2010 mustang gt

the day i collected my 2013 camaro 2ss..boy i loved that car.. on long journeys it was effotless..did 500 miles in one day in that beauty and could have gone 1000 easily..

my 2005 gt.

thing u have to remember aswell american cars here dont depreciate much..sold all my mustangs within 10 minutes of placing the advert and lost very little money on each one.
best place to put your hard earned cash is yank cars...
no way i would ever buy any german car..loose way tooo much money on them

btw if u think i'm trolling or lieing then your wrong
i have my own audio forum..my user names are isaac hunt and rudolph hucker
come take a look. u have to join to see most of the forum

http://www.snakeoilaudio.com/

my mortgage free thread here
http://www.snakeoilaudio.com/t8077-mortgage-free

you will see all u need to know about me on my forum...a liar i am not...

u need to join to see it though..something i never ever do is lie...ok i may buy a new car and get excited like we all do..problem is after a few months i begin to find out the problems..i tell you now i never found a single problem with the camaro..nothing
one other thing the euro camaro's had better suspension...1le derived..maybe one reason i loved that car so much
