The middle button on my steering wheel is a dedicated cruise cancel button (keeps the speed loaded in memory, but disengages cruise control).
And yes, I love the feature of not disengaging cruise when pressing the clutch!

Cruise control burns to much fuel, never use it... Not that fuel is an issue I just hate when it raises the rpms and holds to long... Not even going to ruin the thread discussing CC in the passing lane...

Mine is on / off, perhaps it depends on whether you have heated steering wheel?????

I had a '99 GMC Sonoma with 5M and CC that had this feature. Goes back to at least that timeframe.

Whats not to like about Hills assist? It only works on steep hills so not like it affects performance, it works great.

I don't like it because I already know how to drive a manual and it throws all my timing off. Just because I can learn to live with certain nannies doesn't mean I like them.

For whatever it's worth, Gen6 hill assist feature is a lot smoother than the one in Gen5. Gen5's would feel like the brakes were stuck and then there was a sudden jolting release. GM should allow a setting to disable it for those who don't like it.

I hope you have your flame suit on. Hopefully everyone who reads that will be nice. But you pretty much left yourself in an open field doused with gasoline and a propane flame thrower sitting next to you.

The 2007 335i 6MT I leased back then had cc that would not disengage with the clutch in a normal downshift. However, I recall it *would* disengage if the clutch pedal was depressed longer than a normal shift would take, but didn't need to press the brake, allowing you to engine brake only. I also remember its cruise control stalk worked in a way you could increase or decrease your speed by 1 or 5 mph increments - I think depending on whether you pulled in or out, or flicked up or down...and, if you reduced it to a speed too low for the current gear, you'd even get a prompt to shift down.
