at first i thought it was ok..after 7 months of ownership i began to despise it..watching it being driven off was so damn nice..

Always going to be something better in about two years after a new purchase. Just be happy and content and enjoy what you have. I feel as if some individuals only identity are their cars and feel that if they hate on other manufactures they'll receive a free decal to put on their car that provides 5 extra hp from GM.
People automatically think that if you own a Camaro and say something negative about a Mustang then it is because of blind loyalty and that is not the case all the time. Some of us, a LOT of us, are talking about our experiences from owning them.

Buy a few of them. Mod them. Race them against other cars. Do it for a good 10-15 years. Then let me know how you feel about them.

Is it like having an fbo 04 gt auto and getting gapped by a bone stock, 200k mile 98 trans am auto? Or like getting beat by an 08 Camry with a 100 shot?

Mustangs have come a long, long way since then, but those two losses still sting lol

It was a general remark and not directed at anyone in particular. However, just because several Mustang experiences had not been stellar does not mean every Mustang will be subpar. There have been Camaro's that haven't been stellar.

For a while Ford was resting on its laurels. Chevy has been good for Mustang owners and the same resonates well for Camaro owners now. Everything we received with the 6th Gen can offer some thanks to Ford for encouraging GM to push the envelope.

It's all love with cars. ELE! Everybody love everybody!

The only thing I've noticed over on the M6G forums is that most of the Mustang guys are having a melt down over the new pricing with a couple of fanboys sprinkled in (who used to bash how expensive the Camaro was) now saying things like you gotta pay to play when, for the past 2 years, they've been saying that the Mustang will never get more expensive and it's superior because of the price difference.

You want mag ride? That's technically a $5690 option since you can't get it without the performance package.

Want Recaro seats? You gotta buy the Premium GT which starts at $4000 more than the standard GT AND you have to get the upgraded interior package on the premium GT even still if you want them.

Want Memory seats? Gotta buy the safety and security package because it's included with that only.

I thought combined Camaro options were a PITA sometimes... But the new Mustang configurations take the cake at the moment.

Basically an auto premium Mustang GT with mag ride, active exhaust and premium sound is $49,070. That doesn't even include the nicer LCD digital cluster, blind spot/lane keep assist, memory seats or recaros. Although I don't believe you can have both memory seating AND recaros.

Want the LCD display cluster? $51,270.
Want the Recaros? $52,865.

Did Ford just price the premium Mustang GT out of competitive range...?

For ~$5k more (obviously only if you're getting a fully loaded GT) I could go get a base GT350.

And don't forget, there's another PP coming that should be comparable to the 1LE package currently on the Camaro. Wonder what that will cost?

I just recently cross-shopped Mustang GT PP vs Camaro SS and this is one of the things that pushed me towards the Camaro. Ford prices things so you have to get lots of doodads I don't care so much about but are expensive, just to get the important parts. With the 1LE package on the Camaro, GM literally gave me a base model SS and then checked off only the stuff I really wanted. HUD, magnetic ride, big brakes, Recaros, etc.

I won't say Ford lost my business solely because of that, but it played a part. I also didn't like the way the GTPP handled or sounded. The Camaro put an instant smile on my face, and I didn't even drive a 1LE! The '18 Mustang sounds promising, but I was already ready to buy a new toy and Ford lost out this time around.

I've owned seven Mustangs (four GTs of various years, three Cobras up to 2003) and been out of the domestic market for the last 10 years or so. I've never owned a Chevy, but in a few more weeks I will...

this post on the mustang forum is surely enough to put off anyone buying one

i copied this from the drive line vibe thread

Thats why mine is sitting at Ford, unless they fix it and it doesnt come back I will be filing a suit of some kind in the near future. 42k is a lot of money for a car thats going to vibrate itself to death as I am absolutely sure it will damage other components and then what ?
Sorry but I am not putting up with that bs, not with the technology and past knowledge these dealers have to build good cars
Wishing I had never bought this car now. Its definitely my last Ford product

Nice! Welcome to the other side then.

Unfortunately it seems like most manufacturers are going to this bundled crap. It's annoying.

On the Equinox we bought, my wife wanted a sunroof. However in order to get the sunroof you had to upgrade the sound system as well. Her and I couldn't tell the difference between the base system and the upgraded one so I didn't want to pay for it. But you had to if you wanted a f****** sunroof... Long story short, we didn't get a sunroof.

Even now on the new ones you have to get the sun and infotainment package... Yea, that's what I want. A sunroof option that costs ~$3900. GM can shove that amount back up their ass.

Anyway... I have digressed.

I think we are headed that way as a whole and there's unfortunately not much we can do about it. I'm just glad that the Camaro is a bit on the cheaper side now. Next year with the refresh? Who knows.

Hopefully gm won't follow suit and keep the prices sane on the mce. I'm sure they can pillage some mustang guys by offering equal or better performance stock for less money. If they don't screw up the styling and add a lil hp i can see them leading pony car sales till the 7th gen. Mustangs looks took a step backwards imo.15-17 has a better front end.

I would not be surprised if a premium PP2 GT was close to 55k. And it won't beat a 1LE I don't think
