Its a bit high. I built up a GT Premium Automatic, w/PP,Mag Ride, and Perf Exh totaled $48,175.00.

I am not sure how the standard GT Premium matches up to the the 1SS package but the one thing I do like about the GT is that you can build this with the 10-speed automatic and still get the Performance Package. I definatley prefer the GT's looks and interior, performance is unknown. Real world I would expect that you would be able to walk into any dealer and get this optioned vehicle for 46k.

Bottom line is today's cars are just expensive. Whether you want a nicely optioned Camaro, Charger & Challenger, or Mustang be prepared to pay mid 40s unless you want a bare bones base model which I tried with my prior Camaro and regretted soon after.

A few things. My non drag pack s550 was perfectly stable at 130mph. The non brembos were horrible tho.

Also, to the comment about 3.9s 0-60 so it should have plenty of torque.

I would doubt that, they increased the revs to 7800 to get hp. It may have worse torque down low than its predecessor. Not knocking the new GT just giving my assumptions on the power characteristic

I have a lot of negative things to say about Mustangs. But it comes from owning lots of them over the past decade. So while my view might be negative, it is not biased. The person you were replying to, drew peacock, also has negative things to say but it is also out of experiences. So it is not biased. But considering this is a Camaro page, you're kinda in the wrong place if you're looking for an unbiased review.

Tramlining is actually a thing and it sucks. My 03 GT suffered from this after I installed a Flaming River drive shaft when I did headers. I needed the drive shaft to clear the headers but it gave me horrible play in the steering and that car tramlined like crazy. After that engine blew and after I went back to stock exhaust manifolds I eventually put a stock drive shaft back in and it helped but it was still there. It sucks and at high speeds it is very dangerous.

Why would you compare a GT Premium to a 1SS?

And yeah cars are expensive. I just really hate the way Ford especially lumps their option packages together.

Who cares. We picked the camaro because we like it better. Let the mustang people be mustang people. What are we debating about? 5 horsepower, xxlbs of torque. tenths of a second. blah blah blah blah blah. You picked the camaro because maybe you feel that it performs better, looks better, better platform...whatever it might be. This is never ending.

You see a mustang guy and two things happen. Either you appreciate each other that you like muscle cars, or the other guy must suck cause he doesn't have what you have. Just have fun driving your car and enjoying it and don't worry about mustangs

Agree that cars are more expensive.

But my "bare bones" 1SS still comes with Bluetooth, 8" touchscreen and rearview camera, MyLink, hands free calling and text, 8" configurable driver's display screen, power seats, and then all of the performance goodies that comes standard on a 2SS. I'm sure I'm missing stuff.

Heck, my prior 2010 Camaro 1LT had more options checked on the initial purchase order, but in reality had less features than my 2016 1SS with just auto and NPP exhaust added in. Today any buyer should be able to pick up a car like mine for 36 - 37K without even trying. With discounts, possibly MUCH less.

Today's base cars still give you a lot, unless perhaps you are talking about a base work vehicle.

Because the 1SS is much closer in price to the GT Premium at $1,100 differance, than the 2SS at $3,900.00 differance would be.

First off, you are forgetting the destination on the Mustang. GT Premium is 40k and 1ss is 38.. That's a 2k difference. 2SS is 43k, which makes it 3k more than the Mustang.

A GT without PP is EXTREMELY soft. It'll have more features than the 1SS, but will be missing the performance. These cars are simply packaged differently.

If you just want a cruiser and a nice interior, the GT Premium is cheaper than 2SS.. If you want nice interior/features in the Mustang AND performance, then you need to cough up 4k for GT Premium PP, which makes it 1k more expensive than the Camaro 2SS all while having less features than Camaro.

Also, this may be subjective but having owned both I will say the interior on the GT Premium is nowhere near as nice as the 2SS.
