What do you guys think of the new 2018 Mustang? It seems to me performance wise it will be better then the 2SS.

Less torque. Won't beat it 0 to 60.

good car finally they try to catch up with the camaro
but the problem is the pricing for it
GTPP will cost even more than 1LE with less performance OVER $50 VS 1LE $45

so i just we will witness a boost in sales for GM

The 5th gen was ~300 lbs heavier than an s197 but ran comparable times with the ls3. It also had an advantage with a solid rear axle

Gearing helps no doubt but tq from the engine itself is not meaningless.

BMW is also underrated. They are not certified under the same sae standard/testing procedures as the big 3 pony cars

Less Torque, 5 more HP and still heavier. SS still wins.

I think that all they're doing is closing the gap performance wise but it won't be enough to outperform the 6th gen. If the GTPP outperforms the 1LE SS, which is a long shot it'll be outperforming it's own big brother GT350 which wouldn't make sence.

utter junk
has the driveline clunk been sorted?
has the automatic thump and clunk been sorted?
has the high speed stability been sorted?
has the hood flutter been sorted?
has the crap manual gearboxes been sorted?
has the dreadful tramlining been sorted)
has the dreadful bouncy harsh ride been sorted?
has the floaty feel above 100mph been sorted?
has the ac failures been sorted?
has the driveline vibes been sorted?
has the twichy unpredictable steering been cured?
does the new motor have any low end grunt?
the car is even uglier lol
big list there guys and i doubt any of the issues have been sorted.

to predict the future just look at the past..every single mustang since 1964 is a collosal pile of exrement.

i would steer well clear myself

I was disappointed in the 350 also.

The scat pack ive run against here was very impressive. Very close to my times when we were modded about the same.

Maybe its just the drivers or something....or maybe his tune was shit. but the drag pack mustang was an auto s550 and I seen him using a laptop in it. point and shoot dead hooking. 12.2@113 was his best run all night. This was last fall in DA of about 100.
The scat pack with DR, hellcat airbox mod with filter removed and tazer ran 11.9@115. No tune.
You must have craptastic drivers at your track. Here at Atco we've had a few drivers hit 12.4-12.5 stock in good air. Pretty sure Camaro owners on this forum have seen it. I hit 12.7 stock on an 85 degree day a few year ago.

Nobody is denying the SS is faster, but to say it can't get under 13 stock is just plain ****ing ignorant.

Don't believe everything you read or see. Coming from the Mustang world owners would constantly claim no mods while they were in fact running x or h pipes, tunes, gears, and other little tricks.

It also reminds me of how the 15 GT made more hp than the 15 SS but the SS was faster. I wonder why...

Mustang owners have like 10 different definitions for the word "stock"...so they are all "stock" something, as long as they keep the second part of it out. I've seen more stock cars with forced induction or cams or full bolt-ons in Mustang world than on any other car. Come to think of it, in years and years of racing I have only ever seen one stock GT at a track other then mine.
