The torque management cannot be disabled in the E92 ECM either, but it can be tuned where it's no longer a limiting factor.

At the end of the day I believe the ECM will still be holding the car back a little.
Well at least that's some good news, that it can mostly be tuned out or countered. I know that's not so great for the guys that want to stay 100% stock but at least it'll be worth a shot so I don't have to go trade it in for a hellcat lol

I was driving around in track mode a few days back when cwebster indicated he hadn't experienced it in that mode. The issue did seem like it was still there to me. However, when I started off today, the mode naturally resets from track straight to touring. I left it in touring for the short ride and the issue seemed to be completely nonexistent.

I went back to sport mode and made a few stop and goes through the neighborhood. In sport it is still clear as day. Going back to touring, again, almost nonexistent.

Thought I'd ask the group for a consensus just to make sure it isn't me learning how to compensate for the issue, versus the issue not being there.
I'm always in tour mode, happens to me all the time.

I run a M6 convertible without the eLSD and experience the same launch issues described.

Ok, we were wondering how the Verts behaved without eLSD.

So the issue must be the "Manual Transmission Protection Description and Operation"

I love my 2017 ZL1 M6, but it is the most difficult car to launch that I have ever owned. I drag raced most of my life, and all were manuals, I can not believe that a car with 650 pound feet of torque will bog so badly, this can be frustrating and disappointing.

It's not just the manuals being affected, so it can't be the clutch protection. I'm more than willing to take my car to a dealership to get it logged, or at least in the system. I know how to reproduce it very easily.

I've experienced a very similar issue with smooth low speed starts from day one with my 2017 2SS manual. Stalling in situations where you shouldn't stall. It had me questioning my stick skills...been driving predominantly manual cars for the last 30 years. Major differences between the cars of my past and this one; dual mass flywheel, dual disk clutch & drive by wire.

My operating premise has been that since the throttle is calculated rather than 1:1 like a cable that I'm having a hard time modulating throttle position and managing the ON/OFF nature of the dual disk clutch. Meaning, where my normal driving expects a small amount of modulated slip using a combo of throttle and clutch I no longer have control over the throttle or clutch to the point that I can consistently modulate them.

This seems to be more of an issue in Touring mode and less in Sport and Track.

Just throwing it out there because I didn't see mention of the dual mass flywheel and dual disk clutch as part of the variables folks are trying to ID.

So if it affects the vert without the eLSD it could also be a problem with the SS?

I'm guessing it's related to the power since zl1 verts are showing the same symptoms. I had an a8 ss and never really felt the car fall and a lot of c7/ss cars around here are running very strong with no signs of falling down on launch when they tune it.

by the way I found this tidbit just some offical information

Quote:
eLSD and Wheel Slip

The upper eLSD display indicates the eLSD clutch locking percentage. The lower wheel slip display indicates the rear tire slip compared to the speed of the front tires.

I spoke with the engineers at Camaro Fest. They seem to be taking the problem seriously, and I think they have a handle on the cause of the problem.

They plan to put the recorder on my car in a few weeks to verify the problem is exactly what they think it is.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Thank you so much for your continued effort to get to the bottom of this! There is definitely a problem and it should be a relatively easy fix if computer related. The first big step is the GM engineers acknowledging that the problem exist!
