I tried daily driving a C6 for a year. Didn't work out all that great for me.
Now I daily drive a BMW sedan and have the Camaro as the weekend road trip car.
It would never get used if I had a vette even as the weekend ride because wife wouldn't want to ever take it. Camaro is right choice for me.
And I could easily DD this car.

But again - totally personal decision.

Again, I appreciate all the comments. Another 2 weeks (ish) and I should be able to get some test rides done. Thanks

i did exactly this. I looked at a blue 14 2lt z51 M7 with 1600 miles on it. test drove it then test drove a 17 2SS M6 and decide to buy the new car. The vette was nice and I want a Vette but it wasnt nice enough to buy a 3 year old Vette for the same price as a new Camaro.

If getting a c7 stay away from the A8, it overheats at the track , If you dont need the back seat and can live with a manual, I'd go with the C7. Check out Kerbeck online, they have huge discounts on new ones.

Looking at a 2SS right now but if that falls through I might wait it out again. I really wanted to test drive both before deciding but this one has everything I want.

edit: There was some other circumstances that lead to me moving my time table up aside from finding what I wanted. Anyway, loan approved and I should be able to pick it up when I fly home in 2 ish weeks. Very excited.

I'm a little late to the party to chime in but also consider these factors

1) warrantee - goes to the Camaro
2) gas mileage - goes to the Corvette
3) insurance - not 100% certain but believe the Camaro would be less
4) performance - goes to the Corvette
5) room - goes to the Camaro (+ back seat .....and yes an adult can fit back there)
6) average maintenance - goes to the Camaro
7) tech options - goes to the Camaro

I know that some of these were already listed, and you obviously need to test drive both, but DON'T overlook making a list of the pros/cons for YOUR life situation

Good luck and just know that you can't go wrong with either one

I had this very conundrum before buying a Camaro. I was going to have the same car payments but less warrantee with the Vette. I test drove the Corvette Z51 and loved it but the 2014 doesn't have Apple Play. My driveway is in such an incline that a 2012 Vette I drove scrapped the bottom. I suspect it wouldn't be the only place a vette would scrape bottom.

Then I saw the 50. It was love at first sight. I could get a regular Z51 Vette or a Special Edition FiFFY. It was like having a Camaro Grand Sport. I didn't care about resale value because this is my retirement car. My wife and kid are small enough to fit in the back if need be. There were more positives for me than negatives. I get more compliments and head turns than I want so I know it looks good too.

I made my ultimate choice from the heart. You should too.

Thanks again for all the feedback. Currently I have been approved for a loan and already in the works to take ownership of a fully loaded 16 2SS. The owner is a member here and a pretty good guy. There is a crack in the window he is getting replaced before I pick it up. I cant wait to drive this thing!
