I like them - see road trip review of them here:

If you are thinking of getting a 1LE but are unsure due to the seats - don't let that be the decisive factor - unless you are fatter than me, then maybe.
I like the 1le seats more on the test drive, I am asking if I find a good deal on a 2ss as opposed to the 1le. I drove both, but test dives are too short.

The problem with both seats there is absolutely NO lumbar support. Big let down with GM on this. I love the Recaro's for the necessary support while cornering and I found a solution to the lumbar: installed an inexpensive air bladder (about $28) that pushes out just above my bulging L5 vertebrae. Installs without removing the seat, and it holds air for a very long time without pumping the bulb. My Audi S5 seats have very aggressive lumbar and was quite surprised why Chevy's Recaro's didn't come with that adjustment. Anyway, no complaints, my little trick worked beautifully.

Got a link? Might be something my wife would like!
Thanks!

Im 6'6, 265 and have 8k miles on my daily driven 1LE. I definitely prefer the Recaros over the 2SS....that being said I came from even more "agressive" Recaro seats in my 2015 Mustang GT and never long term tested the 2SS seats. I have found the 1LE seats to be very comfortable even on long trips and we actually have heated/cooled seats they just aren't connected. Some forum members were hopeful that they could find a way to make them fully functional for all of us and are still working on a solution.

Owned both - 2SS for 6 months 5300 miles, traded for a 1LE that I now have 5600 miles on. 6'1" 205lbs

2SS Seats:
Pros:
-Selection in color
-lumbar adjustment
-heated & ventilated was kinda nice - can't use heated much anyways since I never really drove it below 50deg
-easier entry and exit due to the lack of the recaro bolsters.
Cons:
-Ventilated seats don't put that much air through, and the areas that are ventilated are still leather, so it still retains body heat
-FAR less bolster & body hugging through corners

1LE Seats
Pros:
-Bolstering for days
-alcantara is far easier to clean - vacuum it and brush it, also helps keep you from sliding around in the seat
-even though they aren't ventilated, the alcantara is a lot more breathable than leather, so I don't find myself missing the ventilated seats
Cons:
-no lumbar adjustment
-entry and exit is a bit more difficult
-no ventilation.

As a whole, I'd call them equally comfortable really. Neither causes me any discomfort on long drives. In the end its user preference, and I prefer the 1LE recaros that I've got now.

You just need to learn the "Recaro shuffle" lol. Fall back into the seat sideways, swing legs up over bolster and door sill into the footwell.

I like both but I would go with 2SS because I feel the 1LE materials on the steering wheel and seats would be hard to clean. Plus it looks like a hidden dirt magnet other than that it boils down to personal perf.

One thing I will say about the 1LE seats is that they change for the better after about 1000 miles. I'm 6'4 250, and my shoulders weren't comfortable initially to the point where I was thinking about replacing the seats, now after a few track days and daily driving, the foam softened just enough to make them much more comfortable. As another person mentioned, there appears to be all the hardware in the recaros to make them heated and cooled so it's just a wiring issue that prevents the standard 1LE seats from having functioning heated and cooled seats.

I think the bigger question here is the drastic difference in the overall car, not just the seats...

One of my cars is a '98 V70-R that came with the dark gray alcantara center seats (leather sides) & wheel 1/2 leather 1/2 alcantara. With 110,000 the seats still look REALLY good and I am super picky with my stuff. The wheel just looks OK. The fuzzy part of the alcantara wore away, but it looks like it's supposed to look like it does & it's still very comfortable. The seats need a shave every few years to keep them new looking. You get little pills/balls on the fabric surface after a while, I use an old electric shaver to buzz them off & they look like new again. They also sell fabric shavers for 15 or 20 dollars.

After living with the alcantara for a long time I would absolutely get it in another car if possible. Picture from last year with about 100,000 miles on them.

No lumbar support in the 2SS is a disappointment. Really surprised it's not there
