No lift shift has become my favorite feature of the car. I'll admit it was weird the first couple of attempts. I've only driven manuals since I was 14 (29 now) and my brain is wired to lift right foot when shifting so after a few attempts I have gotten the hang of it and my oh my is it fun as shxt!!

Between the MRC, eLSD, no-lift shift, and PTM, the car is all about Witchcraft.....and it's amazing because of it.

What blows me away in this car is the degree and depth of customization available. Ditto ergonomics and overall driver controls design which is second to none IMO. As a matter of fact I've found that across the GM line of products. All we need now is a quality HP manual to take guessing and experimentation out of the process. Did I say I absolutely love this car already?!

For example; I've set my steering to always be in Touring mode, as I've found Sport and Track calibrations to be needlessly underassisted. My Miata has a de-powered rack in it, so if I feel the need to be "manly", then I can arm wrestle that thing Over The Top style. To your point however, such flexibility in the Camaro's settings can be both a blessing and overwhelming. It just takes time to feel around and see what you like. I do recommend trying it all and giving all the settings a fair shake, you might surprise yourself on what fits your driving style.

Words of wisdom Rye. Thus far I really like a Track set up. To me it gives the most precise feel from the steering to the chassis. But it is early days and I will try them all for sure. Thx!

no lift shift is the s@#t
I love this feature, it does take a little practice, and can be quite terrifying when you miss the gear...(don't ask how I know) LOL, but I too was wired to pull up my right foot when shifting, but the first time it is done correctly it is quite the thrill.

Only parameters are you must be going at least 30 mph, and the throttle must be at least 90% down. Takes some getting used to holding your foot to the floor while shifting...and don't let the noises it will make freak you out. It's unburnt fuel and such igniting in the exhaust. So you will get some kinda loud pops and crackles and other odd noises that you may not be used to. |
