1LE - very disappointed with HP supplement manual

Not with a car, which I just picked up yesterday and absolutely loved every km driven from a dealer! But with a High Performance supplement which reads as if a 12 year old wrote it as an after thought vs being a product of highly qualified GM engineers.

Firstly, it is a mambo jumbo of thoughts which pertain to some cars, but not all. Perhaps GM should issue specific supplement for each model. Or at least organize the book by model.

Secondly, I am blown away there is no details on fluids. No specific recommendations per, no specific intervals to change them, etc. Even regarding motor oil, 2 are given but no further explanation why 2 vs 1 or when one might be better vs the other...

Lastly: the Ride Control Systems page 25 is a complete and utter mess! Even the opening par made my head spin: it mentioned Competitive Driving Mode, PTM and Launch Control as "systems" present, but then added TCS and StabiliTrak. Is one part of the other? Are they separate? What the heck is the Competitive Driving Mode and does it "live" together with PTM in 1LE or does it pertain to only some models? Blah blah blah....

Obviously, GM did a stellar job providing with a high degree of customization for those systems. But they absolutely fall flat on their faces trying to explain them.

As much as regular manuals are well put together, this supplement SUCKS!

I talked to Al O. at the Rodgers car show a few weekends ago. He said they're working on a new Performance Supplement that'll accompany the release of the ZL1 1LE and it'll allegedly better explain the different drive modes.

That said, it's not uncommon for OEM's to distance themselves from specific explanations and knowledge transfer to the customer, to minimize liability. It is unfortunate that the USA legal system has catered to the lowest common denominator and as such the average consumer is unable to be trusted with detailed information, however that's why forums can be helpful.

Interesting take and glad a better manual will be out with the ZL1 1LE.
But I'd differ on the subject of liability. IMO one could sue given the mambo jumbo which is the current manual. Based on a fact that it would be easy to set something out beyond one's abilities without really knowing causes and effects. IMO.

The manual and the performance supplement don't even mention no lift shift either. It is far from perfect...hopefully they send us, or allow us to download the improved one after the ZL1 1LE comes out.

On a side note, awful click bait thread title................

Yes. As long as you are going over 30 mph and have the throttle pressed at least 90% the way down. You will know when you are using it properly, and it makes some funky sounds when it cuts spark and such on the shift. Works well though...

It's been discussed in here like 50 times, most regular SS's built in mid 16 and later have it too.

I've used it many times.

Good to know - thx guys!
Discussed 50 times here?! LOL!
It should be in a friggin manual!!!
Back to my question: HOW did folks find out it is there if it is NOT in a manual? Trial and error?! Rumour? Informed dealer? Uncle works for GM?
Seriously: how? Thx!

Ok new to the M6. Had the A8 prior. Hope you don't mind me asking. What exactly is no lift shift?
