You can see even with the tie of the 350R and the 1LE, they put the 350R on top.
Here is the previous 2017 ZL1 on the same track by Randy. You can see he was slacking on the H2H

Its chevy trend. All previous reviews of the 6g have been biased and paid by GM. They must have ran out of money to pay them off this time.
Imagine if the 350 won in every category but still lost the comparison. Anarchy lmao Looking forward to what the zl1 1le can do. It's gonna be nuts. The mclaren is in trouble ! |

So the 350R doesn't have rev match? It sounded like it when I ran across one last weekend at Sonoma. I was running in Group 4 (fast group) patiently passing cars on the straights when this beautiful white with blue stripes 350R came blasting past me, aggressively passing in turns. We both got past the lead car and I followed it for a little over a lap. We ran hard and the cars matched up evenly both in the turns and on the straights. He ditched me when we came up on another group of cars with his aggressive passing. I've loved the sound of my ZL1 but damn that 350R sounds awesome, especially downshifting into turn 11.

ok, just watched it, I cant say I disagree, the zl1 is an all around car, the GT350R is supposed to be a race car for the street. I kinda want both, the sound of the voodoo is awesome.
It's kinda like comparing a 911 turbo to a GT3, they have different purposes either way, i'm glad they both exist, each makes the other one better, and we car enthusiasts benefit |

Good review and the ZL1 had a great showing. Nothing to be upset about here. This GT350R looks like a fun car, with a whole lot of raw performance. 2016/17 version of Fords 03/04 Cobra Terminator

I got to wonder...If a SS 1LE (455 HP, more weight than the GT350), runs the exact same time, but, magically, the ZL1 is only a second quicker...What gives? I'm not a professional driver, but I've driven my share of cars and used to race cars on tracks when I was young, and when I was watching the H2H laps, the Camaro looked like he wasn't pushing it at all...
What am I trying to say? I'm saying that MT ran a balls to the wall lap in the SS 1LE, a decent lap in the GT350R, and a horribly slow lap in the ZL1. I could be wrong but that's what looking at that scoreboard, spec sheets of the cars (Basic stuff like power-to-weight), and the videos of them setting the laps. Oh by the way, I think the same thing is going on with the C7 Z06 runs. Car should run way harder than a 1:25. They bitch about the power but then love the C7 GS. Come on! Just use LESS THROTTLE and they're the same car, then once you're above 60 MPH on the track, use the Z06's power and you'll put bus lengths on the GS. I don't know what kind of chemical engineers MT thinks they're working with here but I got news for you, the C7 GS and the C7 Z06 are the same car except for a 1.7L Eaton Supercharger and SLIGHTLY cushier suspension in the GS. I literally was getting a headache watching their videos on the Z06. And I feel like people have gotten a tainted opinion about it solely because of Motor Trend. Everybody else says stuff like "It's not a Race Car....In fact it's better". But Motor Trend? It can't handle the power. It's not finished. I'm fed up with reviews honestly. Time to start getting sign and drives and finding out for myself. Who knows, maybe I'll drive my buddy of a buddies GT350 this year and find out the exhaust note and loud interior noise is worth it being slow everywhere except a road course. |

Go back and watch this head to head video and you'll notice the GT350R is able to break later and carries more speed throughout nearly every turn. This is where you spend a majority of your time on a course...and is the reason why these two cars with such a huge disparity in HP are so close. Just because a car can accelerate faster does not mean it will be quicker around a road course. |
