The nav is ok, but it will have CarPlay and Android Auto, so don't get too hung up on that if an opportunity arises. The PDR is pretty cool, I turn it on every time I drive the car. Definitely worth it as an option! If you don't find one with a carbon insert, you can always add it after the fact as well.

Yeah, the standard features of the ZL1 are quite good really. As an Android guy, I welcome Android Auto vs. just Carplay in the BMWs. Heated/ventilated seats standard too, which is nice, plus the PDR is cool. I don't really have a problem with BMW's iDrive, as it has really improved over my E90, which wasn't good at all. Germany can, but certainly aren't matching power for the price, as you'd have to get well into 6 figures to match what Chevrolet has done with the ZL1. My dream car is a 911 Turbo S, but it's a bit out of my price range at the moment. AMG GT is no joke either, but again, you're talking twice the price of the ZL1. Later this summer/fall when the RS3 is on dealer lots and I can drive one, I'll certainly drive the ZL1 as well. I think it would probably be about the best time to buy one if I liked it as well. I do prefer the smaller size (and 4 doors, and AWD) of the RS3, but like you said, the ZL1 is so nimble, especially for its size. I'll definitely check out your video. Thanks again! |

As far as the sound goes, it doesn't get much better than the big engine and supercharger whine for me. It's right up there with the E60 M5's V10 . . . without all the problems. ![]() Thanks for the info. about the wheels too, you've been very helpful. Much appreciated! Enjoy the ride! |

Came over from a '15 chipped 650i with 540HP that bored me to death. Would never go back to that heavy German POS... This car may have some interior flaws but in the things that matter such as speed and handling, this car is will outperform any BMW on the road. Or you can think of it as a better performing Porsche Turbo S for 1/3 the price. Or maybe a better performing M4 GTS for 1/2 the price. Or maybe a better Viper for....you get the idea. Good luck with your decision.

I didn't know about getting the carbon insert after the fact though. Good to know, as that's pretty much a must-have for me unless the car was heavily discounted or something. Makes sense though. |

I'm with you on the 20s on the M. You can actually get the 19s with the ZCP now, which I'd probably go with. I got the 18s on my M3, and it rides considerably better than my friend's M4 with the 19s. I couldn't imagine what the 20s are like. The 20s on the ZL1 with MRC is probably fine though, like you've experienced. They look great, I just feel there would be more tire options with 19s, and I wouldn't feel as light in the wallet burning through them. ![]() The seats do look great in the ZL1, and I appreciate the insight on the interior. The gen5 was awful, IMO, but the gen6 does look better. I appreciate the help and thoughts! If I have any questions when it gets closer to buying time (late summer/fall at this point) I'll certainly pick your brain a bit! |

However, I'd take a Turbo S over pretty much any car made if I had the money to spend. That's pretty much my bucket list car. The ZL1 will hold its own over just about any car twice the price though, for sure. Even as a BMW fan, I can't defend the M4 GTS though. ![]() Thanks for the insight! |

The M3 is still a beast, but I'm sure it doesn't compare to the Camaro performance-wise, since it's more focused in that department. I do appreciate having a more well-rounded vehicle though, which is why I went for the M3 in the first place. That's sort of my quandary with the ZL1. |

Ive posted a few opinions coming from my e92m3. Honestly, trading to a 2ss would be an upgrade, the zl1 will be major. See my sig for some opions too at time of purchase. There are many M-converts here! BMW is screwed

Granted, at 2/3 of the price of my car, it's a bargain for sure. I just like the amenities of what I have now, and would really only give up some of those if I got something that gave me something on the other side of the coin. The ZL1 I could see doing that if it's put together well, which it sounds like it may be from what y'all have been telling me. Only one way to find out though.
