For the base MSRP, I factored in 2% price increase. Since we are dealing with a very expensive car, a 2% increase will be around $1222. I could be wrong, but I am going with the extreme here. I also think the ZL1 is a special car and GM might give it a higher price increase as compared to other Camaros. Since ZL1 has been out one model year, we have no comparison for ZL1 unlike 2016 to 2017 Camaro SS prices which were $605 increase. ZL1 is just in another league and very limited too. If the car is limited, GM can increase price much more. So 1LT to 2SS will probably be standard price increase across the board because that is where most of your sales come from. But, I believe ZL1 is the exception and will be treated differently. Just my opinion here.
For the Gas guzzler, I was under the impression it would be retested again. Also, one of our members ron scubadiver came up with a good point about how it might be higher. Reference thread below quote: ------------------ Almost certainly it means closer ratios and no long overdrive. It will probably have a lousy highway EPA sticker and a higher gas guzzler tax than the current ZL1 M6, but who is going to take this car on a boring interstate ride to wear out a set of tires which cost at least $2k? ------------------------- http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...485497&page=22 Last edited by h777; 05-02-2017 at 09:24 PM. |

As far as the Gas Guzzler tax...option packages don't require re-testing. As this is not a new model...they're more than likely going to get away without a retest - which is great. The new 6th gear is numerically .675 : 1. Compared to .536:1 in the standard M6 version. AND the wheels and tires are shorter. So at 65mph and 6th gear, the standard ZL1's engine will be spinning about 1660rpm...In the same conditions, the ZL1 1LE will be spinning the engine at about 2130 rpms. So yeah...in the real world there will be highway fuel mileage loss. But I very much doubt the EPA will pick up on it. |

If or when I decide to get another camaro I'll dealing with you. I don't have time for all the shenanigans these other dealers play. Also stop the track car stuff. Track cars don't have VIN's. I have no intentions on tracking the car alot cause I plan on driving it regularly and road trips. Now if I just so happen to track the car then cool. If not, then so be it. Drive it how you intend to and not how someone else want you to. It's just a device used for transportation. That is all

Ok so how does one find a dealer that has an allocation for a ZL1 1LE? My dealer just told me he did not get an initial allocation. I have never had this issue before. I was able to get my 2010 Camaro, my 2012 ZL1, and my 2014 Stingray from the same dealer with no issues. How do I even know my dealer will ever get an allocation for a 2018 ZL1 1LE? I will be at the GM sponsored event at VIR next week, 10 May. I plan to ask GM there why my dealer cannot sell me a car?

So how do I know my dealer will get an allocation on subsequent order cycles?

Call the lady on this forum and ask her if she has one, never know what she may come up with.

Ok crisis solved, panic has subsided, LOL. I was able to find a dealer that had two allocations. I am his first allocation at MSRP. He has one left if anyone is interested in buying one at MSRP out of N.C.
