RotoFab Sound tube delete, oiled filter

I installed mine a few months back. I wanted to make a review of it after giving it a go for a while. I can say that I absolutely love it. To my ear, the sound tube delete is the way to go. It seems to (if anything) cut down on the road noise a bit. My car is not heavily modified by any means. CAI and a fuse pull. So, obviously it isn't life changing in the power department. But to me it does allow for you to hear the exhaust better, due to the road noise not being transferred from the chassis to the cab. Now if I can replace the runflats, it would actually be pretty damn quiet as far as road noise goes.

Now on to the install and fit and finish. I honestly can say that RotoFab is on point. Their instructions are very clear, and everything went together like butter. As the instructions say, make sure to check the clamps after running it. And every now and then. My main tube came loose at one point, but has been solid since. One of the clamps I received was the wrong size, but I just used the OEM one instead. Those are the only "cons" I can think of really. I once installed a Mishimoto CAI on my buddies WRX and that thing was a turd compared to this RotoFab. I highly recommend it and if I had to buy it again, I absolutely would.

it's the other way around. The dry filter has a couple more ponies. it takes in more air.

Here is a whole thread of misinformation?

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485613

Quite a few dyno sheets around here showing the dry outperforming the oiled filter as well.

You could inbox some of the tuners here that have actual experience with both filters on multiple cars:

This will be the last post to this thread for me..

If its not on same dyno oil vs dry... then the difference of 2-3 hp is not going to show through....

More Reviews of the Roto-fab CAI!!

Robert
"Love the Roto-Fab cold air intake. Got nice fast shipping to my door. easy installation"

BK
"Rotofab's CAI was one of the easiest installs I have ever done. It was such a quick, simple process, it was 30-45m tops from putting it together to completed install. Good quality, easy install, great looks, I am enjoying it so far."

Ralph
"Excellent customer service and great intake! No whistle, just increased power and great intake sound! Top notch construction, quality product. Thanks Phastek!"

Kelvin

"Roto-fab, not much to say, this is best of the best for your camaro. I like it and feel the difference"

Jason

"The instructions for this CAI couldn't be any more clear. They are very detailed and have pictures which when combined should be able get anyone through an installation. I ordered the sound-tube delete CAI, and I can say that I certainly didn't notice any drop in exhaust/intake noise inside the cabin. The fit is perfect, can clearly see on the hood liner that it completely seals the air box. While it does seem to add some to the responsiveness of the car, it's really hard to say what hp gains were made without a before/after dyno run. I'm saying if you want a CAI for your 6th gen Camaro, then look no further."

Barry
"I bought/installed the sound tube delete with the oiled filter version. Wow. What a great product! Install was easy, and I am blown away at the end result. The instructions are incredibly informative and accurate. Also, I highly recommend the sound tube delete version. Not only does it clean up the look under the hood. But it cuts the road noise way down, even with the stock runflats(which are LOUD). The quieter road noise really allows you to hear the exhaust more and makes for a more pleasant driving experience. I have yet to push the car with it on, due to weather. But even if there isn't a noticeable difference performance wise, the aesthetics and dampening of the road noise is enough for this to be worth the price of admission for me."

We would like to send a huge thanks to Phastek Performance for compiling these product reviews for us!

I'm just going with a K&N drop in oiled filter for about $65. Good for 5 or 6 HP. Don't have to worry about an ECU reflash.
