I would probably not be power shifting on a regular basis lol
It most certainly does have it.

I assume since GM has it on the car, and they have to deal with warantee claims that NLS isn't bad for the drivetrain?
It's gentler on the drivetrain than the old school powershifting.
I got pretty good at it with a fully hot rodded 3rd gen back when I regularly drag raced it. Launched at 3500 almost a clutch dump - floor it and hope the DOT slicks hold. Normally they did. 1.8 60 foot time. Probably lifted 1" from the floor on the gas and quick stab of the clutch to 3/4 of its travel. The car ran 12.8s at 108 with a 370hp/430ft lb superram efi motor. But that car had very stout drivetrain. Centerforce clutch, lightweight billet flywheel, tremec TKO 5 speed and a 9" rear with auburn LSD.

Never tried it on my SS and don't plan to.

After you successfully do the NLS, the traditional lift and shift in comparison seems like a delay or something in between shifts. I try to throw to the next gear as fast as I can but no matter what there's always that noticeable drop in RPM's..

So yesterday when driving, I tried this no lift shift.

SPORT MODE, GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, I was looking dead at the RPM, at 6000RPM, I press the clutch while still holding the gas pedal all the way to the floor, the RPM jumped from 6000RPM to 6500RPM (redline)..

So I am starting to have second thoughts whether our car has NLS.

I don't have my car yet or I would check for you but I would think if the cars have it it would be in the owner's manual maybe if you get a chance today check it out and report back

Lot of people were commenting how they never read about the no lift shift in the owner manual.

It's very strange that we would have it and GM wouldn't advertise it think about how much the advertised it on the 2009 Cobalt SS. I for one am hoping we do have it once I get my car and get through the break in. I'll throw my two cents in

I was also very skeptical about NLS and didn't think it worked either.

However..........

It's not bouncing off the limiter like you guys think when you're using NLS.

Go drive your car in first gear and floor it to the limiter....it doesn't "bounce," it just kills the engine entirely.

If you were hitting the limiter while using NLS, your car would fall flat on it's face. Also, go try to use NLS and shift a little bit slower than normal...listen to the sound it makes....feel how smooth the shift is....if you did that while holding the gas pedal down on a car that does not have NLS, it would not go into the next gear smooth as butter. It would probably grind itself into the next gear.

However, I definitely don't think the NLS feature works before 6000 RPMs or so, despite what people say. If I stab the clutch at anything below 6000 RPMs, the RPMs definitely do jump up. But why would I ever NLS before then anyway?

Overall, it is a pretty cool feature. Smoked a Bentley Continental GT and Lexus ISF while using it the other day.

Go to post #36, page 3. You can see the control parameters for NLS for confirmation in the cut and paste from an HPtuners screen.

I've power shifted (NLS) everything from t-5s, t-56s, to the new 6060's. I've noticed no difference in the way the RPMs act. This was a feature designed to help boosted cars hold boost between gear changes so I just assumed my NA SS didn't have it. Maybe I just expect it to work differently. I would think the feature would hold whatever RPM I was at when i initiate the shift. If it climbs to 6500 and holds there then I suppose I could have it and just have never noticed it. If this is the case, it seems it would make no difference to me whether I had it or not because I'm usually in 2nd before it has a chance to get to 6500.

I was out playing with my LTG for the past two days and it needs to be over 5000rpm no doubt; anything less and it does not engage... You then proceed to free rev to the rev limiter.
