No lift shift
Has anyone had much luck in making this feature work? I think I've been able to do it once... Is it only for 1-2, 2-3 gear shifts? I quickly scaned the manual, but didn't see it... If you have no difficulty performing this feat please let me know how you are doing this. Thanks in advance!

I've seen this asked a few times some saying it does have it and others saying it isn't there. I haven't tried it myself though +1 for any feedback given. Also didn't find it in the manual.

Ok, so this thread didn't generate alot of feedback, so I'm assuming not much is known about this feature for our 6MT LTG...
I took a look around the forum and couldn't find concrete information on this for our cars; it was bothering me, because I bought this car thinking it had this feature... Well good news peeps! I can say with 100% certainty that our cars do indeed have a no lift shift feature included from the factory! Coming back from work last night I was determined to find out how to make this work... I got acquainted with my rpm limiter on the way home also (it works fantastically btw) So to enjoy this bada$$ feature here's what you need to do: 1. Get your car up to operating temperature (not just the coolant and oil, but the transmission also... It can take 30min, i find with the HD cooling package it floats around 60C once warm) 2. Press the accelerator pedal into the floor board and keep it there through this whole process... If you even SLIGHTLY lift this will.not.work 3. Accelerate (in any gear I assume, but I've only tried this up into 4th as I wasn't willing to go to jail over this ) at least up to 6000 rpm, if you don't reach at least this engine speed the feature will not engage and you too will become acquainted with you're rpm limiter. 4. In one quick and fluid motion (after exceding 6000 rpm and not lifting off the accelerator) push the clutch in, select you're next gear and let the clutch out 5. Hold on With the traction control off a 2-3 no lift shift will light the tires up and step the rear end out... You've been officially warned. Have fun! Ask any clarification questions you have, everyone who owns these cars owes it to themselves to try this... These little turbo cars are ridiculous Now I need to best my 5.4 in the 0-60 LTG thread I have in the drag racing section |

When done correctly you will notice that once the clutch is pushed in the car will bleed boost to keep rpm in the 5000-5500 range...
When not done correctly you will bounce of the rev limiter Warm up car, don't lift, shift at 6000+rpm and go scare some automatic drivers lol #savethemanuals |

Wouldn't this damage the clutch though? I tried not to do this to much in my previous car but I know that some cars are able to do it with no problem. Is the Camaro one of those that can do it without damaging the clutch?

I think it will be ok. however a few A8 trannies were weak from what I've heard so who knows what could pop-up on the M6.

Being a built in feature I doubt it, but keep in mind the 'smoothly' part of my post... Be quick, but no need to 'dump' the clutch
