Thanks brother. I will see what I can do.

Forgot to mention in my PM that I have the Maggi heat exchanger set up for my LT4 blower. Hope that is enough if I don't make a change.

For those that are interested in that "inlet temp" at the filter.

Its 5 degrees over ambient at 2mph

(Don't worry, we logged it with a thermocouple)

Now that's good news. This is why I ask questions. I am trying to work a deal to trade for a P1 kit.

Once a car moves forward, air actually goes under the car.
So heat from the headers actually goes down.

Not saying its ideal. But as the other member pointed out... adding a long twisting inlet to a blower robs power.
And if you have to spin the blower harder to make up for it, well that adds heat.

So really in some cases its the lesser of the two evils.

While this is true about the header, your feed air is still coming through the radiator, so you're not going to be close to ambient either way. Data on my "less congested" engine bay D1R procharged fox body showed 140-145F SC inlet air temp on a 75 degree day with a similar filter location.

Moving the filter to the front bumper (in front of the radiator) was worth 1-2 tenths in the 1/4.

I thought that with how sealed off the engine bay is from the front and the bottom less air would be getting in there.

On my P1 C5Z I cleaned the air filter and gained a bunch of power so I know how critical the inlet side it.

Thanks for the info.

I wouldn't know about the data on your fox body.

All I know is that data I have personally pulled off the 5 thermocouples during 1/4 mile testing in 90+ degrees KS heat.

And that inlet data is exactly what I just told you.

(And no I am not talking about some lazy GM IAT sensor, I am talking about high dollar thermocouples)

On a lighter note, how about this shot of the original posters car.
(Shot yesterday in the blazing sun of the day)
I almost forgot how much I like taking pics.

I'm going to do lots of logging and testing so the gen6 people will have a little more outside data.

I could look through the logs, but I remember the track temp being over 130 degrees, and my ankles remember it as well. LOL.
