Can't wait to see what kind of numbers you make. Eventually I'll be going to at least upgraded pistons if not rods and maybe stroker like your build. Currently making 13.5 lbs on my f-1a on stock internals with meth makes 720 rwhp

Beautiful. I just wish there was some way to get the darn filter off of the top of the headers.

Ice cold water will take care of that at the track

I'm going to see what else we can come up with for it, working wit ha company on a new hood that will let me have a different place to pull the air from

So as long as the air is cooled prior to entering the motor it will have the same values as if it were cool coming from the filter? It just seems to me that you can't create atmosphere that wasn't there to begin with without chemicals. I don't do much FI and the ones I do are not set up that way, so those are serious questions.

I am sure sucking hot air is not the perfect set up but it works and works well. I have seen people make a cold air filter pipe for their procharger and actually lost power. The added restriction hurt more than the cool air helped.

My turbos suck hot air too. My thoughts are it would be better to build some kind of scoops or airdams that push cooler air toward the filters but that could create other issues.

Perdieu, that is a really clean set up. I am anxious to hear some numbers. Are you working on your fuel system?

You are correct in your thinking, air in and air out should be the same value. With the proper size and placement of the intercooler you can get it down a little closer to ambient however never to it or below it

With a Air to Water you can achieve the same results as above. However in daily driving it can sometime be worse if the IC water becomes heat soaked.

THE BIG KEY is when you add in ice water (right before a pass) you can and will see temps BELOW ambient for most of if not all of the pass. I've seen drops close to 30* bellow ambient in 100* temps.

With that said my set up is not for most people. I'm chasing a number and wanted all the advantages I could get. ProCharger knows this and offered me the beta setup to do some real world testing.

Fuel system will go on during the engine swap.

I'm not even going to tune it until the swap (starts next week).. drove it 100 miles yesterday on the stock tune,, sucked not going WOT but I don't want to waste time tuning only to have to start all over after the swap

Got it, I am just thinking that with where the filter is with the hood shut on the starting line your new "ambient" could be 200* or better vs. what ever the weather outside would truly be. You will never see it at your IAT sensor with the AtW and I am assuming a healthy dose of Meth but the starting temp will still be there.

I know that with my car in its current form by the time I launch the car my IAT's are at least 20* above ambient if not more. It isn't real but the ECM thinks it is and wants to adjust accordingly.

I know I am preaching to the choir but I am trying to get others opinions since I will eventually be going FI.
