Sounds resonable. I had a 2017 SL550 that they charged $700 just for the hood. Poor job, so I took it back and asked for a refund. They said they didn't offer refunds, but out of the goodness of their heart would do a do over. Second time worse than the first. I demanded my money back, but no dice. Filed a claim with my VISA credit card on the basis of inferior installation not to industry standard. Submittted pictures and a second opinion and after 3 months credited $700 back to my account. But yours looks good.

I think I will take my chances with a regular paint job. I like the touch of real paint/clear coat on my car, not plastic.

You've obviously never dealt with good paint protection film. It doesn't make the car feel different or look any different if done right. I will never have another car without it protected to some degree with this stuff.

That's obviously a camera effect. Paint protection film isn't gonna cause white to look any different.

It did on the GT350 I had. I thought it was repainted at first and bad at that. I had to be in the correct light angle to see it, but front and back bumper had it on there. It was a perfect job, but the two tone white looked terrible.

I know you can't see it, but if you were next to it you could see the diff.

I think the price was very good.

$3500.00 for the following; film on full front bumper, full front splitter, full front fenders, full hood, full side skirts (or what ever you call them) little spot in front of rear tire, lower part be hide rear tire. Paint correction to get some hard water spots off the car, then full clay bar treatment. Ceramic coating over the whole car, Pulling the wheels off and ceramic coating them. Tinting all the windows but the windshield and tinting the 4 side markers and the third break light. Also they coated the out side of the widows with something.
That is a good price. Mine final cost was $4000. I had everything you had done but coating the wheels and the window and side-marker tinting. I did have two applications of the ceramic coating put over the entire car (except wheels).

I have lint and other debris between the film and paint, I'm putting a claim with Xpel and hopefully another installer can do a better job

My installer ran the seam along the ridge on the top of bumper in a more front to back direction. It's visible if the light hits it in the right direction, or you really look for it. At a casual glance, you don't know it's even there.

It really boils down to how noticeable the seam is when you look at the front of the car. Like I said, mines isn't easily seen unless you really look for it. The black color probably helps to hide the seam as well.
My seam is in the same location as yours. You would never see it unless looking for it.

The film used is not nearly as important as the capability and quality of work of the installer. Some are artists and some are hacks. Best to find an artist.

Before you do that, give the installer a chance to make it right. If you read up on the millions of clear bra threads on this site, you'll see that its very rare for an installer to get it 100% right the first time.

What you'll also see is that most installers are willing to make it right, even if it takes multiple trips.

I am currently waiting for an appointment to have mine completely redone by a specialist at the expense of the dealer who botched the job the first time around. The installer who is going to redo it seems to know what he is doing, and he says some seams are unavoidable due to the contours around the front - even if you are hand cutting it and not using a template. On mine, the seams next to the headlights make it look like the body is cracked - mostly because they are jagged (not straight and clean), but the hyper blue may also make it more noticeable.

The original installation was horrible - lots of jagged edges, bubbles with debris underneath, hairs under the film, crooked pieces, missing pieces - you name it, we got it. The edges are coming up all over the place - they should have either been wrapped far enough around the edge to stay down (preferable) or trimmed just short of the edge of the panel, but they were just hung slightly over the edge of the panel - which caused them to lift quickly, collect dust and now they won't stick to anything!

Our intention was to cover as much of the front clip as possible, rockers, mirrors, pillars & roof back to the sunroof, and the panel between the door and rear wheels - but they "missed" the black pieces on the front bumper next to the DRLs (I've only got about 200 miles on the car, and I already have a chip in one of those spots!) and the panel behind the door (they said they thought it was already covered by the factory). And, with all that coverage, the person who will be redoing it says he thinks he can save the pillars, but everything else will have to come off and be replaced. We are just hoping nothing is permanently damaged in the process - very disappointing with a brand new, relatively expensive car, but at least they are making an effort to make it as right as possible.
