I have to say I think most of your trap speed issue is just the weather and about a mph from having a converter and hooking harder. You are spending less time accelerating.

From when I've run I swear 1000 da swing is even more than 1mph on these cars. It really effects them. I'm inclined to guess for about every 750 you looking at 1mph.

I see your car trapping 124 range in 0 DA if you are at 121 at 2000. I don't think you've lost all that much mph it's just mostly the weather imo

Yeah, weather is playing a factor. No doubt. But in +200 I was trapping an average of 98 1/8 and 124.7-125 in the 1/4. Now I am 99+ and barely over 120 in 2K. I hit the dyno again today. I will post up when I get home.

My back half was down 2-3 mph.

I think the higher DA rear its head more the back half. I usually back half about 25 mph. I was at only at 22.5 in 2400 DA.

Hmmmmm.

It got back on the dyno and I am more confused than when I started. In 5th on E I gained 10rwtq but lost 4rwhp from my previous E numbers when I was done tuning. The hp fell off just above 5K so it is a considerable loss throughout the curve up there. Unfortunately that is where I am at the entire run with the converter. In 6th I was pretty much down 10/10rw from my last best pull the entire way. I will say that it was 90* in there today and it started raining an hour or two later. Last time it was barely 60*. I was a bit lean from the track tune up top and adding some fuel did help the pulls in 5th but didn't help in 6th. I messed with the timing some to try to carry the top but that didn't seem to do anything either. Again the car was taking a ton of timing. I really just need to buy my own dyno. I am always in a rush and have to jam through everything. I would have liked to drop 5* of timing out of the entire curve and started over from there.

I really wanted to play with the trans pressures to see if there was anything thing there as well. I really think upping the pressures did help a bit. Last time on pump gas I was down on tq and up on hp in 5th. This time it was reversed. I am starting to wonder if playing with the trans pressures in each gear by rpm will equate to getting my top end back.

Oh, so much to consider. LOL.

It will give you DA along with real time weather conditions. Water grains is a big item many overlook.
I use the Airdensityonline app on my phone but I had it set up for the wrong track. I used the wrong tracks data for my references. I had no idea the Rock sat so much higher.

I'm late to the party but just wanted to say congrats. I am anxious to see what is next on your list....heads/cam or that dusty old (but sexy) 1.7L on the shelf.

Thanks man, I am just glad you showed up buddy.

Chris at Circle D was gracious enough to spend some time on the phone with me yesterday. He gave me some useful advice that I am going to put to work next Friday night if the track opens. I will see where I am at by the end of the night. He thinks there is another 10th or two in the car with proper tuning for the converter. It is going to be hot and nasty like last time out so it should be an even comparison. If I can pick up a couple mph on the back half and run her out I should be able to drop into the 10.80's if the track will take 1.44's again. Maybe I can get the title back for a day or so.

Anyway, I just have exhaust ports on one head and the valve jobs left on my heads. I should have those ready to go on this week. So, I am going to try to hit the dyno on Friday before the track, go race one last time bolt on's, put the heads on Saturday, race again on Sunday if the weather is close to Friday, and hit the dyno again on Monday to validate the heads. If the heads are worth a couple 10th's and a couple mph then I will market them. I am looking to get 20rw out of them as a straight swap on the stock cam.

I have been working on a line of custom cams. I have to run my thoughts and ideas by some guys that are much smarter than I so they can temper my enthusiasm. If all checks out I will pull the heads again and install a cam, either mill the heads or run a .040" Cometic's if they are available for this car and possibly make a run at the H/C title. I hope to be in this configuration for Camaro Fest.

Then when I can afford it, upgrade the fuel system, different cam and heads and a ported dusty old 1.7. I want to get solidly into the 9's. I may be swapping that 1.7 for a Procharger but that is way up in the air right now. That 1.7 isn't going to get me a title of any sort with the FI monsters running around here now but it will get me to my final goal of a 9 sec/140mph sec daily driver.

That's the short answer of what's next.
