I sent a heated email to Mishimoto. I don't know how they'll fix it. I barely torqued the fitting, used a smaller wrench than they showed in the instructions, and there were zero warnings about the part being delicate. I certainly didn't torque it nearly as much as the fittings on the actual catch cans that also have plastic fittings.

They needed at minimum a warning about a delicate part and better a torque spec. Again, I felt no resistance as the threads sheared off, I was still waiting to feel some resistance and never did so I checked it and it was in two pieces.

If anyone has tips on how to remove the CCV connectors, I could use help. I can't even get one side to release.

As for the PCV connector..... I did the same F'in thing! Torqued the threads right off the thing. I also have been in contact with them about supplying a new piece but have no heard back yet. I was unhappy when this happened to say the least.

But.... I did end up putting a high heat silicon on the part and made sure there were no leaks. If you look at the cutaway picture of the part and how it works the threads breaking would not have an impact on the function as far as I can tell.

I have also put about 500kms on the car since install and there is no leaking and the catch can is doing its job!

I will be installing the new pieces once I have it shipped but in the mean time I am not worried.

Getting the thread out of the engine will be difficult by I will tackle that when the time comes.

Definitely a small, but very frustrating issue.

Could this have been resolved if that broken part had been maybe made out of brass or something similar?
Basically what @ChicagoTommy said! @Adp2017 and @smithb I responded to your thread and comments. Let me know how your replacement part works out! Also, @ChicagoTommy, that fitting is actually very complex.

It may not look like it, but it's internal construction makes it extremely difficult to make using any other material than what we did make it in. It is made out of a glass-injected plastic mold, so it is very tough. However, it does not require a lot of force for it to seal properly in the port it threads into.

You guys got instructions??? Must be nice. I didn't get any, and don't see them on the mishi website? Hard to tell what hose goes where from the pics.

a text to oemtech, confirmed what I thought was right, but wasn't sure as like I said, no instructions in my box.

It was a HUGE pain in the ass trying to get the hoses on the plastic fittings on the can. After struggling for a while, I finally just sanded the barbs 3/4 of the way down before I could finally fight them on most of the way...

Sometime this weekend I had planned to do a detailed breakdown of this kit (measure fittings, volumes, detailed pics ect.) I'll let you guys know what I find out!

Looks like you did receive the wrong fittings, I'm sending you a PM so we can get the correct pieces out to ASAP!

Also, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, since I saw a few familiar names on the other thread, the PCV adapter doesn't stand up well to over tightening. Due to the complexity of the piece itself, it had to be injection molded, but it is still a strong fitting. We're including the following supplementary instructions with the fitting just for those of you who are thinking of ordering or haven't installed yet are conscious of how my torque you're putting on the fitting.

• Over-tightening the PCV adapter will cause it to break.
• Hand tighten until the dowty seal is flush with the valve cover.
• Once the dowty seal is flush, the adapter should not be tightened more than 1/16th turn.
• If resistance is felt as you thread the adapter in, try the following:
o Lubricate the small o-ring with engine oil
o Check the threads inside the valve cover to be sure they are clean and free of debris.
o Ensure the adapter is not cross threading

If you have any other issues, don't hesitate to contact our customer support.

The installs are looking great so far, looking forward to more!

Thanks,
Nick

Finally installed it after all the rain and snow. I'm gonna go for all blue under the hood theme if as much as possible. Also, the silicone hose you attach to the in port of the catch can won't go in all the way is that OK or should I call Mishimoto and ask for a different one?

Anyone know why type of head is on the CCV retaining bolts? No adapter I have fits it. I bought replacement valves since I (nor the dealer) can get the connectors off, but now I can't get the bolts off.

This thing is ridiculous.

Thanks.

Finally installed

Got the car out of storage; after a quick engine bay clean up I got to installing my dual can setup.
Following Mishimoto's install video made this an easy experience. My one issue was with those dumb locking connectors... The intake one came off easy, the 2 on the head I carefully cut off with a dremel after messing around for 15 min

I gathered the hoses together for a cleaner look...

Nasty!

This is what I found upon disassembling my intake after the first 6500km without a catch can... The dirty paper towel is what was cleaned off the baffle and the inside of the housing; the stock CCV line was full of oil also

Bumping this for you guys. I hope you already have answers, but if not maybe the right eyes will see this. Also calling Mishimoto direct would be a good idea.

Looks good. So the hose on the intake you used the Mishi tool to remove, but didn't on the other's. Not sure what you mean by cutting them off.
