My mirrors and front bumper aren't really that bad. It's clearly the poking wheels that are doing the damage unfortunately and yes, I do have some in the 1/4 panel above where the rocker moldings come up to.. Grrr...

I had the factory junk PPF removed, and my PPF installer covered those whole rear quarter panel areas with Xpel Ultimate self healing PPF. No way I want to deal with this...

Looks bad like my 5th gen at 30k miles. Anyone measured the paint thickness? I know the 5th gen had a thin clear coat like Chevrolet is trying to save weight on paint.

Maybe PPF x2 might work ...

Well after a week of ownership she's in for PPF and window tint, removing the little stock patch and full rocker coverage, the carnage of some of these photos.

Yup, similar schedule to what I did. I actually made the appointment for PPF while the final paperwork was being completed

Glad this thread could be of service to someone. Wish I would've know when I purchased the car 😭

Do they have pre cut ppf for the 1LE or is it all custom. I'm curious what they do with splitter in the front?

Same nose as SS, so you can get pre-cut...they have a template for the splitter, but if you put PPF on it, it will make it look glossier and not match the other satin black parts. My installer showed me, I was not liking it at all. So I passed on that, as I figure it could easily be removed and repainted if I even had an issue...

I ended up doing the whole nose and rocker panels.

Most PPF installers in my area can do custom cut, or film cut from a plotter. The majority of my PFF was from the standard plotter cuts.

Don't waste your time at the dealer. Add a piece of black vinyl and replace it yearly.

How much (if any) chipping are you guys seeing above the line where the rocker panel piece ends? The PPF that I am looking at covers this entire piece, but I'm wondering if a second piece of film needs to be added above the horizontal line between the door and rear wheel arch?

I have some on both sides above the rocker. It's not as bad as lower down but it is definitely there.
