Nice Catch! Why is that? They didn't paint over the gravel guard did they? And if so, WHY???? That would mean that you can't simply remove that put a bigger piece on it. You'd have to remove it, paint it, then put film over it.

When rock chips hit the factory PPF it will turn white. I have XPEL on my lower rockers and it will turn white like that when it absorb the rocks. But if you take off the PPF, the paint will be undamaged..

Another words, the PPF is doing its job but it does look bad too when it does lol

I have the same thing. The "chips" in the OEM clear bra are just gouges in it from rocks so it is opaque now in those areas. You can feel them as well. It really sucks.

Yea, it acts just like paint as far as showing marks. Pure white, so they stick out like a sore thumb on a black car.

I'm going to try polishing the PPF, and using Dr Color Chip on the paint and see if I can make it look any better.

I will say, though, that I don't believe I'm seeing any more rock chips since I installed the front mud guards about 700 miles ago.

Isn't EXPEL "self healing"?

That site is funny. They have Red Hot listed as "Pull Me Over Red" and some of the other colors listed are the internal designation or the designation in our countries (like "son of a gun grey" in Australia)

I'm 450+ miles in w/o any chips. I have front rock guards and XPEL covering the whole rear quarter up to the edge where it turns at the top. I took a 300 mile trip this weekend with a cringing amount of rocks being picked up on some local roads and have no damage to show for it.

Consider yourself lucky for now..

My lower 1/4 has XPEL to the middle.. guess what? Rocks made their way up to the upper 1/4.

Oh well, nothing can be perfect for long in the real world

yeah, I cringed anytime I heard the tires picking up rocks. But man, I wonder if OP lives in an area where the roads are just covered with rocks or something. I put on ZL1Addons rock guards at 700 miles, and I don't see a single chip.

IDK, sucks big time - Hope dealer can help out.

Here is my non-1LE at 2,700 miles and probably only 500 miles and one wet track dayon the 285/35R19 front wheels that poke about the same as the 1LE. I have the stockers on now for the final auto-x of the seasons since I'm in FS. I'm also in Phoenix. It's dry and gravelly here so everything gets kicked up.

I think you take the cake Eric :(

Did rocks go up to your upper 1/4 panel and side mirrors too? My bumper actually has more hits than the 1/4 panels tho
