I had a horrible experience with the local stealerships salespeople and had a hell of a time trying to get to a real sales manager (each had 5 or 6 with that title). Might save a few hundred ordering from a local dealer but unless you know them it's a game of chance on how well you will be taken care of, even if they have thousands of your dollars in a down payment.

I ordered my 2SS Her Blue with Kalahari interior, MRC and NPP from Becky last month and anticipating TPW 4/17. My last car was a dark blue Pearl with camel interior so I love the combo.
Your order is pretty much exactly the way I want it. I'll probably get the 8A because of some nerve damage in my foot and I'm not sure if that might impact my clutch action ability.

Anyway, really excited for you...congrats in advance!

I don't understand how Becky has such great feedback. I sent several messages when I wanted to place an order. She only responded to me once and that was to sell me a vehicle on her lot. I told her I want to order one and then I couldn't get her to respond. Even after several attempts. Frankly I was shocked at the customer service I recieved from her after all the positive feedback she's garnered.

Finally gave up and started asking around my local dealers. Found my closest dealer was the best deal and placed the order on 03/17. Looks like should be built in a abound a week so I may still get it delivered the month.

Thanks for the input and congrats, that 1LE is a huge bargain.

Understood.....Any of these volume players can have that happen to them. You probably just got lost in the cracks. I worked with BMW salesman that made $300-$700,000 over the Good years in the 90s and 2010, and it was always just a person that they missed because of the frenetic pace in which they move. Becky is the real deal, it's Obvious, but she's human.

I have enough headroom that I can comfortably hop in the seat to change positions and not make contact with my head. I didn't notice any legroom issues on my test drive, so didn't focus much on that metric enough to quantify it for you.

Thanks for responding. 1" is nothing really so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. That 1LE is an amazing value and looks incredible....I tempted to buy it on how the wheels, tires and brembos look not to mention the real handling and braking performance.

Mine took 7 weeks.

Ordering did not change the anything monetarily. If you think about from their perspective, they get all of the holdback plus they don't have to pay interest. I'm sure it all depends on the dealer.

I ordered from Becky when the gen6 was first hitting the street (Dec 15). Thousands below msrp on her initial offer with NADA high trade value for my 13 ZL1.

I ordered exactly what I wanted including the blade spoiler that delayed production over four months. I called her at one point and said build the car without the blade and quote me the cost to replace the deck lid. She checked her sources and told me to wait. I ended up with the first blade spoiler SS just a few weeks later.

This preproduction picture was the inspiration for my build. Nightfall Gray, Kalahari with blade

You're on the right track, OP. By custom ordering your Camaro, you will not get the best deal ever, but instead you will get exactly the car that you want, built exactly for you! That said, there's nothing preventing you from shopping around. Except you're not shopping for a car, you're shopping for a salesperson/dealership. I talked to Becky as well as a local dealer recommended by a member here. The sales guy I worked with locally is a lifelong GM guy, working at a dealership that has been in business for 65 years. He gave me a better deal than I was expecting, and applied a "bonus tag" on top of that when the car came in for extra savings.

Yes, get agreement on pricing in writing before you order.

The only thing I missed out on by ordering locally instead of through Becky is the time I spent waiting for my order to be accepted by GM (4+ weeks stuck at status 1100). This is not uncommon, and is known as allocation purgatory. Becky and her dealership do so much volume that they rarely (never?) need to wait very long for an allocation from GM for a new order to be accepted. That's my understanding anyway.

Lead time info for my particular order is in my signature below. Good luck, and enjoy!

I didn't special order mine but when I saw mine on the dealers lot it was exactly the way I was going to order one. Same options, color and everything! Talk about a coincidence! After I talked to the Sales mgr I decided it was the Camaro for me.

And I got a better deal than ordering one and didn't have to wait 6 to 8 weeks either. I was told by the salesman that they ordered mine so they could see what the options were like on the car as compared to the other Camaros on the lot. The other ones didn't have NPP exhaust, MRC or the black wheels. A win win for me!

I WAS going to order one but local dealers acted like doing so was a huge pain in the ass. I had several colors that I was fine with and it so happened that one like I wanted popped up on a car lot a few counties over and I got a pretty good deal on it. I was going to wait to get a 2018 model but I couldn't wait any longer and I'm glad I didn't.

Wow, you were lucky. You never know, maybe I'll get lucky in September when I return to the US but not likely given I haven't seen anything close on Portland or Seattle dealers lots though I regularly check their inventories.
