And the 6thgen ZL1 community is still to lazy to check their A/F ratios on the stock map. I just don't understand how you guys can buy a $70k plus car and ignore it when a fellow forum member comes in to report that the base map from GM can possibly kill your motor! Forget it, I'm done. I'll leave you guys to figure out the hard way.

This will be my last post, I refuse to attempt to contribute anything more to deff ears. What's the point?

You know nothing about these cars other than what you think you saw or what somebody told you. The "map" on these cars is NOT going to kill your motor or even come close to it. Every single vehicle since 2014 from GM that runs the E92 ECM shows knock in stock form. That DOESN'T mean that it's going to hurt itself, hell these computers show KR when it's not even knocking from torque management events. Stop repeating the BS, it's not going to do you or anybody any favors.

Well the great thing about $70k plus cars is that they come with a decent amount of engineering and quality control already in them. I'm not quite sure what you expected from this. Everyone to run out and get a custom tune on their car and void their warranty because of your claim and then report back here? Maybe you just wanted conversation, in which this is the right place.

I think it comes down to people have different perspectives on the right and wrong way to do things. I think what would have made more of a compelling story is if you had made the discovery you claim and then worked with GM to acknowledge and then correct it.

So at the moment, assuming you are absolutely correct, our cars are covered by a warranty and will be fixed. Yours will not.

Just my two cents on the matter.

This happened to an otherwise reliable Acura I had in the past, turned out there was water in the gas tank. I used nothing but shell vpower.

Might be a stupid question, but thought I would ask. How often do you guys recommend using a gas treatment for our zl1? I have about 4k miles on mine.

Any thoughts?
I am definitely no expert. I did read however, on page 252 of the owner's manual, a warning about not "Overfilling the fuel tank by more than three clicks of a standard nozzle" It claims that that action could cause "Vehicle performance issues, including engine stalling and damage to the fuel system." I hope this may be the reason for your issue so that you don't have to wonder about other causes and know what you can do to avoid future occurances.

Best of luck!
