The car was advertised to be able to go 0-60 in first gear. Its not even close. First cuts off at 5000 RPM's and so does second. It takes all of first and second to get 0-60 time. This is not like the car cutting power for traction control, this is different and like hitting a wall. I checked both the Tachometer on dash and on HUD display. They are in dead sync. I went and talked to service tech at Chevy dealer and ask about possible lag with tach and not being in sync with actual engine. He said rev limiter and tach and hooked to same sensor, so thats not the issue. I'm not getting any error code, so a little confused where to go. Anyone else encountering this? Any advice?
All we can do is speculate, but if you're not in valet mode, I'd suspect you need a computer re-flash... sounds like you're hitting rev-limiter sooner than it's supposed to.

There must be some other issue or hopefully it's something stupid like Valet/teen/dealer mode etc.
Its not, mine lets me put the RPMS where ever I choose with no limitations.
Something is wrong with his, most likely software related, could be on board options such as valet mode or needs his ECM reflashed.

It's not in Valet or teen mode, maybe software? I didn't want to leave it at dealer, but may have not choice, as I have exhausted all other options.

Just as a wild idea, press the OnStar button and ask them to confirm that the car is no longer in Demo Mode. The car ships that way from GM and the dealer usually deactivates it during PDI. I'm wondering if something happened and it never really turned off. Worth spending 5 minutes to confirm.

I can't imagine they don't validate the ECM against a checksum to ensure proper programming from the factory. My GUESS is that the problem is elsewhere.

Pressing the OnStar button seems like a good place to start, just to double-check the demo mode.

Without some diagnostic tool, like HP Tuners, it's going to be tough to diagnose this yourself. If you have a OBDII reader, I'd be checking the fuel injectors to see if they're being commanded to pulse. Depending on what's wrong, it may be hard to distinguish a fuel system problem from a rev-limiter since the rev-limiter works by turning off the injectors.

Good luck man! I'd be nervous about taking my car to a dealership too, but that might be your best option.

If it's truly still in "demo mode"...the key fobs wouldn't work to unlock the doors.

I wasn't aware that OnStar had could do that? Couldn't hurt to try. I has to be something simple

Definitely worth a shot. Maybe a long shot but who knows. If that doesn't work I might also try disconnecting the battery for a while and reconnecting. Again a long shot but worth trying before you do a last resort drop off at the dealer.

Taking it in next week, The service manager is on vacation and I want him there when I take it in. I think it has to be something simple like a computer setting. Because it has shown no signs of performance issues other than this.

What about a software update? Pretty sure you can do it yourself. Or at least there was an option similar in one of the menus. Mine asked to back up with a usb drive or something if I recall. I did not end up doing it because it has to go in for a steering glitch but I considered it because one of my performance options kept disappearing from the menu.

Grab your second key and drive the car with it. You may not be seeing teen driver, but something could still be going on with it. When I bought my car it wouldn't go like it was supposed to. Here a salesperson was showing someone how the key feature works in the car and the key I was using was reverting to his settings which limited my car and also set my seat and mirrors. It made me so mad that every time I started the car my dang mirrors and seat moved all out of whack! It didn't show as teen driver and wouldn't pull a report card or anything like that. The dealership ended up giving me a second key and keeping the first one because they couldn't clear it.
I'm also curious what IAT's you're getting when doing a hard pull in those low gears.

04/06/2017- I took it in dealer and technician looked at it. It is not showing any codes and he couldn't find any service bulletins about it. He checked a couple of things and everything checked normal. So, I took technician with me on a ride and he had laptop connected to car. Sure enough, in first gear at WOT it totally cut power at 5600 RPM. I was actually relieved and he was able to capture the data. They are discussing with Chevy Tech support and it has been made a priority. They are bringing in an Area Specialist in the next couple of days and I will take the car back up there when he gets here. Also, several of you guys suggested ECM refresh or computer related. Local dealer can not refresh codes without Chevy being directly involved. I will keep you updated. I think it has to be simple because it hasn't shown any other symptoms or issues.
