If you have DA of about 1000 or less, a proper drag pack and 60ft in the 1.7 or better you should run in the high 11s.

Don't waste your time with the paddles. Turn all the nannies off. Air the tires down to about 18. Stomp it on the 3rd yellow off idle no brake torque.

Well today on the stock tires I took em down to 24lbs and1/2 tank of 93 turned off all nannies left it in drive but I did torque brake it at about 1500rpms guess I screwed up should of left at idle.My front skinnies are on back order .If it's cool Friday evening I'm gonna try capitol raceway it's like 400 lower in elevation then where I was today.and thats all I'm going to run on the factory tires.not worth screwing around.would you leave on idle with the drag pack also?

I've been launching exactly as you describe but have read others say left foot on the brake and hold the rpm at ~2000 rpm. I was think about trying that since my 60 has been in the 1.9s. My last outing it was hitting 116 mph all day with DA in the low 100s.

I can only comment on running with a 305/45/17 et street r and dead hooking. The car hits the tires the hardest mashing it off idle. I never tried the stock tires.

With stock tires I can't comment one could have better luck with another technique possibly.

No one has done much better than 11.6 near stock and we all used the off idle smash technique. With a proper tire I believe it's the fastest way on the stock converter

LOL, I did coin the "off idle smash" phrase. That only works with a tire. But I have also been the fastest on stock tires bar none. 11.70 flat, would have been 11.60's if I could have gotten another pass in. My best 60fts were 1.77. There is a 1.75 60fts in there. I have seen it done a bunch of times.

You have to brake stall to 2K, let the car roll for a milisecond an then apply all the throttle the car will take. I knocked 4 tenths off a stock car the other day at the track with the same proceedures. 24psi-26psi is about perfect. You have to actaully heat these tires up against popular belief. But the burn out has to match the day and the track. I got the stock car down to 12.08@114 with a 1.78 60ft hot lapping it. I am sure there was a 11.99 in it with a proper cool down and a better launch.

I may take a crack at the 11.5x before I break the seal and tune it in the next few weeks.

I will add my ported stuff though, haven't seen anyone run that quick in an untuned car yet so why not go for it.

Brake stall in my bone stock car in March in Memphis caused a whole bunch of tire smoke. My bone stock best was 12.338 as well, obviously with OEM tires. I did that with street tire pressure and netted a 1.77 60 foot time. It dead hooked on that run. My method was, the "sit at idle and on your light, smash it" method...lol.

At Camaro Fest you'll spend a lot of time recovering from tire spin with OEM tires. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't keep the front tires from scooting across the light when I did the stall trick. Drag radials fixed all of that in hot or cold weather. I got to 12.08 in cooler June weather in Memphis with drag radials and a CAI. It took a DiabloSport tune, and CAI with DRs to get to an 11.89@116 (in the 11s was my goal with this car). I think that's pretty darned good for a very modest investment. To get into the 11s in a 5th gen, you would have to have more than full bolt ons.

You know, each of us has their own methods for launch control and I think you have to experiment to find your best solution. Besides, find some SRT8s Mustang GTs, plus some C7 Corvettes to play with while you're working that out. Driving this great Camaro is an absolute blast. I even beat a bone stock Hellcat who spent his time feathering the throttle in vain...that was great fun.

You know, all I've said is MY opinion and your opinion or anyone else's is probably just as good.

Then you weren't doing it right, LOL. If you do the stall to 2K method you have to let the car roll out for a split second. That is the key. You work your roll out time backward till you are as close to tire spin as possible with out lighting them up. What you are effectively doing is taking out the torque multiplication and converter flash. You are basically driving a stick car at that point and all of the control is in your right foot. Application of power speed is the key to the equation. No way in the world my car would hook with an off idle stomp. Nor would it hook if I transitioned from 2K stall to WOT before there was a hair of roll out and the proper application of throttle vs. what the track will hold. Burn out time and tire pressure are also critical to the day and the track prep.
