Like I said, there is no power difference in the crimp at stock levels. But I also stated that it wasn't a restriction. The flow area is the same as the 2.75 inch exhaust portion because it was not "crimped", it was "ovaled." If you read the blogs they talk about this as well. I was actually referencing the Mishimoto blog.

You don't have proof it isn't. I don't have proof it is. I don't see anyone throwing a fit. This is a logical discussion as I was asked why I had the opinion I did. I even stated my view was subjective. Grown men(or women) discussing on a forum, the appropriate medium for such. Sorry if you can't handle it.
Throwing a fit is a figure of speech. Don't take offense.

My understanding, not until you do some big mods (cam/heads). On stock cars you actually lose some power down low. Better gains from porting the TB and IM.

I don't think so, minimal if anything - I did it more for the extra sound. Combined with the Borla Atak, it sounds wicked

Has anyone actually talked to GM about warranty implications? Everyone keeps saying it will only be on the exhaust no big deal. However, I think I read somewhere in the warranty hooplah that you can't modify any emissions equipment at all. I know the secondary cats are un-monitored, but if I had to guess, I'd say GM still considers them emissions equipment.

Technically tampering with emissions equipment is a Federal offense. This would nullify the Federal emissions warranty on those parts which is the owner's manual is referring too. I think emissions equipment has like a 75K mile warranty which is separate from GM.

Not as many as you think. Cat back systems are emissions compliant, headers and hi flow cats too (maybe not 50 state compliant, but Federal). It's the guys running cat deletes who aren't.

Does it affect the power train warranty though? Or just emissions warranty?
