Hmm. From the sound clips, it sounds like the exhaust pops a lot more often. Maybe I'm hearing things. If that's the case, then this would be a solid no-go.

Separate warranty. Headers (and the primary o2 sensors) are part of the powertrain warranty. Cats are part of Federal Emissions warranty.

True but either way it's a warranty killer, just a different type of killer LOL. However most dealerships LOVE THE SOUND!!!!!(doesnt mean they wont uae it against though) plain and simple any aftermarket mod cam void the warranty IF they can prove that the mod. Caused the problem.

Right but killing your emissions warranty is pocket change compared to losing your powertrain warranty. Most people doing a full exhaust just replaced all the emissions warranted equipment when they put on their new exhaust. So nothing left that GM would need to file a claim for.

Is there a trick to get a shop to do a Secondary Cat delete? Apparently it's illegal and haven't found one that will do it. But I'm sure they'd put an entire system on my car with no Cats!

It is my understanding the 2nd cats are only mandated equipment in CA, so removing it in any other state that does not require it is not illegal under any law. Perhaps you should ask them to produce documentation showing that removal of only the 2nd cats is illegal in your area, or just point out there are two sets of cat and no o2 sensors after those.

Ok, all the provide documentation stuff sounds great bit it's not gonna get you know where. It's all in your wording Lol. If you call them like I did. NOPE there gonna think it's a set up. Best thing to do is GO to a CUSTOM EXHAUST SHOP, and talk to someone personally. Might take a few tries but it's worth it..Then on the receipt it won't say car delete it will say something totally different, at least mine did Goodluck

I just found one that would do it after I started the conversation out that I know that the only state that mandates them are CA. Then again it was a mom and pop shop too but they'll do.

After reading all the pages here i think i made up my mind and going to head to a muffler shop over the next few days and get this secondary cat delete done. I really don't want to change the whole exhaust system just add some more loudness to it. This seems to fit the bill, I will update when that time comes and possible post some videos. I am in the NYC suburb area and local smaller shops here will cut anything off your car regardless so we will see.
