I've owned 2 sets of Firestone tires for the years, both were recalled and Firestone refused to honor the warranty until taken to court by the government. I'm left with the opinion they're a crap company that makes a crap product a fair mount of the time. Buy at your own risk.

Thread is about Bridgestone Potenzas labelled Firestone 500s to be sold in N.A.
Sorry about your issues but your crapping on a totally unrelated product.

I had Michelins on an Honda Prelude they were junk. Therefore Pilot S/S is a junktire too.....?????

Just had the firehawks installed today. Stock tires had over 20k miles on them and were just under 2/32 tread in the lowest spots and slippery as shit so I can't really make any quick comparisons other than ride quality and noise. The car is very noticeably quieter on the highway and the ride feels smoother. I will test the grip after i've scrubbed them in a bit this weekend weather permitting.

I'm not sure this will be of much help, but... for the last couple years - just over 10,000 miles - I've been running a set of 245/50R19 Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500s on my 2010 1LT. Treadwear is good, road noise is an improvement over the OEM all-seasons the car came with, grip is certainly better, and they look good!

These have been my first set of summer-only tires, so I can't say they're better or worse than something else. I've also never tracked the thing, so no clue how they perform at the limit if that's your thing. And of course, especially compared to last generation's V6, the sixth gen 1SS is a completely different experience, no doubt asking far more of a tire than mine could ever dream of.

Still, when my 2017 2SS shows up I would probably consider buying Indy 500s again, especially if the OEM run-flats really bother me.

I'm waiting to see how these work for you. I'm about to buy tires and love the price on these. I worry about Firestone as a whole though. I actually made a post just like this one a few weeks back. Can't wait to see how you feel they measure up.

I had a set on my 2015 GT. I only had about 5k on them before trading the car in, but they seemed pretty good. Quite, pretty smooth, good wet traction and better than the factory Pirellis and the Dunlop Maxx I had in all conditions and road feel without being too harsh. I'd buy a set with no hesitation.

If your looking for best bang for your buck the previous generation Continental Extreme Contact DW are still floating around and really inexpensive.

I got my set it just waiting on my wheels.

I actually ran those on my old car. They didn't perform well at all for me on take off, wet traction, or cornering.

I had them on my mazdaspeed 3 and loved them but Front Wheel drive with less HP and Torque of course but not nearly as wide. We will find out soon enough!

I didn't mean to sound like they are bad, or like I was talking down to your tires. I apologize if I came across that way. They are a decent tire, just in comparison to the other stuff I ran on that car they weren't as good to me.

I'm having these tires installed on my SS this weekend. I'm looking forward to a smoother and less noisy ride. I'm in Houston, so they should perform well. I do like the security that the run flats offer, but at $1400 a set that security comes at too high a price for me. I'm only at 14k miles on my car (80% highway driving) and the rear tires are in very bad shape. I drive aggressive but I haven't done one burn out yet ( that will change this weekend... gotta send the runflat's off in smoke). I don't want to spend $1400 every year on tires, so this seems like a great option for me. I'll put that extra $700 too good use in other mods for the car.

Let me know what you think of these after you get them on. I'm at the same mileage and my tires are about done. I have done burnouts, and other things though. Nothing real big though.
