Very well written and gives you an appreciation for the differences in this car. With the Zl1 already topping the Grand Sport around the track I think this will be beating the Z06 with the Z07 package pretty handily. Guess that is why Chevy needs to get that ZR1 out huh?

Loved the article and pics. Now I'd just like to know what the lap time is at the ring.

The rear glass is thinner, the wheels/tires are 1.5 lbs. lighter each corner. And the DSSV dampers shave the rest of a 63lb reduction in weight.

The really cool part to consider...is that ALL of that weight (except for the rear glass), it rolling weight, or unsprung. That alone is going to make a heck of a difference in terms of responsiveness and that "nimble" feeling, that the ZL1 and 1LE both have already been praised for.

...all of that (^) and drivers still benefit from a fully-equipped interior.

Well, this news release mentions a lighter weight, fixed back, rear seat...

A devilish detail about the perhaps not quite fully equipped interior that might surprise a buyer when he tries to fold down the seat to get to his trunk....just sayin'...

"Lighter weight:*The lighter wheels and dampers, along with reduced thickness rear glass and a fixed-back rear seat, contribute to an approximately 60-pound (27 kg) lower curb weight than a standard ZL1 Coupe."

Yes, you're right about that! Forgot to include it!

Petition one of the mods......It might be a little conflict of interest if I do it. But thanks for the vote of approval!

I did some predictive math last week...and I'm pretty confident in my process.

My guess is: 7:15 - 7:17

No, I don't. I do know that the time they've spent there thus far was development and calibration, though. No hero runs, yet.
