It is a bit much for me as a street car, but I am interested in the new manual 6th gear ratio. In my 17 ZL1, 6th gear is useless to me unless I take a long road trip.

... as long as it's good enough to convert my A10 to a 1LE we're all good.

I think that grill is a must and a little wrap on the hood. Kind of like the smooth mag ride so will see about that.

All raises are figured manually, and well, you don't have a manual.

All suspension mounts, links, and connections are hard…that is to say: that there isn’t an ounce of rubber isolation in this car. And to top that off, the DSSV dampers aren’t exactly “soft” themselves. In a conversation with Al Oppenheiser, he made it quite clear: “The ZL1 1LE is the most extreme track Camaro we've ever done. It is not the daily driver for everyone; it’s meant for the track, and for people who appreciate what that means in terms of track capability. We want people to understand what they’re buying before they check all the boxes they can on a ZL1 order.”

I'm glad they are making clear the differences between the 1LE ride and the MRC ride. I hope no-one gets disappointed by not doing their homework before purchasing.

This 1LE takes nothing away from MRC. (except for the possibility of a very comfortable ride)...I would do a lot of soul searching before choosing either one.

Exactly the same way it was with the Z/28... I sure thought I needed one but afterwards glad I didn't go that route.

Good news is here I can keep my MRC and A10 but upgrade in other places. Main issue for me is I want the 325's and 305's + those wheels, but no way it works with MRC.

OK, went over the numbers. There's only enough so I can get the ZL1 1LE, however, there is enough left over to get you a happy meal.

I didn't mention the light weighting because it has been covered by every news source since the car's release. But I'd be happy to shed some light...

The rear glass is thinner, the wheels/tires are 1.5 lbs. lighter each corner. And the DSSV dampers shave the rest of a 63lb reduction in weight.

The really cool part to consider...is that ALL of that weight (except for the rear glass), it rolling weight, or unsprung. That alone is going to make a heck of a difference in terms of responsiveness and that "nimble" feeling, that the ZL1 and 1LE both have already been praised for.

...all of that (^) and drivers still benefit from a fully-equipped interior.

With that said there will be a lot of parts for 6th gen owners to pick and choose so they can customize their cars to their own liking. That's interesting about 6th gen. On my 5th gen ZL1 the rpm are at 2000 at 70 mph. The regular 6th ZL1 is at 1800 rpm according to the article.

This, exactly!!

As the little "X" on the wing indicates; the 1LE package changes the ZL1 dramatically from what it is in "stock" form.

I imagine Chevy had a few disgruntled Z/28 buyers, or perhaps a few people that wanted a Z/28 but didn't realize what it really was until later in the game. The ZL1 1LE is phenomenal track car, but if anyone is planning to daily drive it, they want those people to know what they're buying.
