Don't misunderstand me, technology has come a long way in a decade or two and the threshold of "quality sound" compared to the human ear has plummeted to levels any amateur hack with some materials can replicate in his garage. But there is absolutely nothing "Bose" in the vehicle as any nominal person would conceive as being Bose as it relates to their $500-$5,000 speaker technology.

Want to talk about the epitome of false advertising and oxymoron? Car Audio as described by a Car Manufacture
Somebody needs to tell all the Bose engineers on-site at GM that they really don't do anything all day.

SomeGeoffGuy, JL Audio has one for the coupe. I have one installed on the driver side and still have full use of the trunk

All I want to do is get a subwoofer channel before it goes into the amp and leave the rest alone. I like my NPP exhaust, and I like the way there is ZERO drone. I am not ready to give that up to get more bass.

2) Someone to build a driver's side sub box. I am shocked nobody is selling one yet. They are staples on 4th and 5th gens. Just a matter of time for this one. Definitely the easy one of the two, and nobody even has it yet.

Does the current method of installing a sub remove the functionality of the NPP valves?

I didn't realize that they made a stealth box for the 6th gen. How do you like yours, and how hard was the install?

*EDIT*

Also, where did you put the amp?

I wonder if it fits on a convertible? There seems to be a lot of room behind the carpet, but there is a module mounted there. It can't go forward of the block-off panel for top activation either. Hmmm.

No, but in the method that everyone has used so far, you have to disable the noise cancellation. There is a specific calibration tied to the NPP exhaust from the factory. So if you change the exhaust, or if you change out the speakers, the noise cancellation won't work properly anymore. And coming from a drone ridden 5th gen, I really like both the NPP exhaust and the lack of drone.

How the noise cancellation works, is that there are two microphones, one in each door, that listen for exhaust drone. The audio signal comes off the head unit and goes back to the amp, but not in an audio signal that you can just easily tap into. When it gets to the amp, the noise cancellation signal is added to the audio signal and and sent to the large speakers in our cars (on my vert it is the front doors and lower rear panels). So if you add a sub, and try to get the signal post-amp, it will include a noise cancellation signal. Putting the signal through a sub will actually create drone instead of killing it.

So if you want to add a sub and keep your noise cancellation, with NPP or regular exhaust, there is still no solution. I am glad to hear there is a box for the coupe, maybe the convertible won't be far behind.

Is anyone working on a solution or is this just a dead topic?

If anyone is working on it, they aren't posting here. I am patient though.

I like both the sound and the appearance. Very clean on both counts.

Mickey Shorr did the install. Given the extra time it took, the install was not easy.

The amp went into the spare tire well.

Did you get the low-profile sub or the 12W6V3? It seems like the W6V3 is worth the cost (extra $100, slightly bigger frame, and contrast carpeting).

The low profile if I understand the question. I should say the pricing between the two was close enough to give me pause for thought.

There are two versions:

http://www.jlaudio.com/product/54216...12TW3_model%29

http://www.jlaudio.com/product/54216...2W6v3_model%29

The first is a low-profile 12TW3 and the latter is a 12W6V3. I'm not sure which to get. The 12W6V3 sub seems to be better, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra $100.
