I totally agree with that.

Given that some folks DD the Z28, I do feel even more will be willing to DD the ZL1 1LE. I'm guessing the added creature comforts were very intentional to help the cars sell. (The Z28 wasn't a great seller in my area at least.)

And that will probably be cheaper than buying the 1LE and compromising on daily driving comfort for the tires and brakes that you want from it.

So I still don't get your complaining besides losing the ability to brag about having the most expensive top dog Camaro......

I've given this a lot of thought since the announcement and I've determined the source of my frustration is simply rooted in my feeling that GM was inconsiderate with the announcement timing. I think it would have been nice if GM had let people enjoy the ZL1 a little before announcing a faster Camaro... I don't feel that bragging has anything to do with it. I honestly don't care what others think about my cars, but the regular ZL1 will now feel like less of a car to me.

This is exactly my feelings.

I'd love know what Chevy thought they were going to gain announcing the car now instead of waiting another 3 months. For sure they gained a few pissed off customers.

So I canceled my 3/27 TPW ZL1 order today. Lot of factors...
1) ZL1 1LE when my primary purpose is to race
2) 3/27 production week and then shipping and then xpel time, suspension tuning, new wheels and tires, and 1500 mile break in was going to mean I would miss the racing season start anyway.
3) Dealer was still insisting on MSRP and not honoring my supplier discount even while he could not meet my dates and they have been horrible with information.
4) A delay while racing my old car, might give me time to find something in inventory for a much better price
And 5) the 1LE brings into question the track value of the A10. A slow down will give me time to hear your reviews.

Ps. My frustration was not so much that they brought out a faster car, there will always be a faster car... but in how long it has taken me to get the base ZL1. I have been trying since November, and despite my best efforts, I will not be race ready for the season. Since I won't, it is worth taking a little more time to consider new options.

In my case, GM's timing did delay a purchase. It probably didn't kill the purchase.

Me too!

Traction is a real problem when launching these cars with only 305s. The 325s have to be an improvement. Not to mention the nicer looking wheels (IMO anyway).

This is exactly why announcing the car at this time makes absolutely no sense to me. Chevy just made everyone with a future ZL1 allocation rethink their order. Plus they added doubt about the A10.

I ordered a manual anyway, but I think GM owes the people who ordered the A10 an explanation for their decision.
1LE is and always be more of a purists package. So, no automatic for 1LE.

I would not mind more of the options available on the ZL1 and SS 1LE's, but, I am glad that no sunroof is available. I may get flamed for saying this, but, I did not like how the Gen 5 1LE's could be ordered with one.

I'd be okay with an A8 or A10 1LE being available if it had enough cooling capacity for max effort on a 100F type of day. Hopefully, we might see those combos someday if demand warrants.

Just wanted to mention something that I didn't see addressed when it came to the difference between the ZL1 and the ZL1 1LE when used as a daily driver. The new ZL1 1LE will have solid mounted shocks from what I understand, no more rubber bushings. That, combined with the DSSV will make this a very uncomfortable car to daily drive.
I agree with OP about the timing of the reveal but I don't think you would have gotten the ZL1 1LE anyways because you did mention you don't track your car much. This wouldn't be something you'd be happy with, this car is going to be very stiff and uncomfortable on the street.

This was due to the major incentives GM offered and screwed current owners. And now, I'm going to take another hit on a ZL1 before even taking delivery due to the timing of their announcement.

At this point I'm considering canceling my order. GM needs to be a little more considerate of their current customers.
I mean, it sounds like you're always going to want the biggest and best as soon as it comes out. So I'm not sure what the point of even complaining about incentives and taking massive depreciation hits is.. They always offer incentives on these cars. Even the Corvette Z06 gets them. And here you are again being first in line to get a ZL1 after taking a 15k hit on an SS.

I get it dude, really I do. But there comes a point in time where you either are going to have to accept that you're going to lose your ass on depreciation buying vehicles the way you do or just take a back seat and wait for incentives to roll out for a car you really want instead of being the first in line every time they announce a new vehicle.

Just my 2 cents, don't mean any offense by it.
