Attempting to predict what will be of any value or "collectable" in 40 or 50 years is like declaring which direction the wind will be blowing on this date one year from now. Forget about it.

They also listed the 5th gen ZL1 as a possible future collectible when it came out.

It is in the interest of a company like Hagerty to fuel the notion that all of these vehicles will be "collectable"

Not sure why, but Haggerty quoted me $1691 a year for zero deductible 250/500k coverage. I had them at one point for my 67 and only paid $395/yr with car valued at 45k.

52 with clean record and excellent credit

If you're talking about a ZL1, I think they consider those in an "exotic" car class. The carrier I use said that regarding mine, I pay around $1150/year for mine with the car club discount. The 1LE I almost got was quoted around $900 though. Your numbers for the 67 seem a little high, but still in the ballpark. My 67 is just under $300/year but not insured for quite as much as yours. Both are agreed value though, even the 2017.

That's what they said, I asked why the large jump in price and that was their reason. Something about being up in the HP and value range of the vettes and similar not as common cars. Works for me too lol. This was Classic Auto Insurance though, not Hagerty

Yeah, I'll bet you are right, its probably the high HP(650) that puts it in that descriptive category. I like it. Sounds good.

IF not, give National Corvette Museum a call about their insurance (American Modern). They are insuring my 2012 ZL1, 2015 Corvette and 67 Corvette all with agreed value and 4% appreciation per year.

American Modern Insurance Group (AMIG) is the underwriter for the company I use and probably related in policies.
