Here are some weight comparisons:
* OE Cat-Back Exhaust: 52 lbs. *Hooker BlackHeart Cat-Back w/o Mufflers: 31 lbs. *Hooker BlackHeart Cat-Back w/ Mufflers: 39 lbs. Attached are also the dyno graphs...ENJOY!!!! We are gearing up to develop down pipes w/ and w/o cats next!!!! #NCMTURBOCAMARO |

Conservativeness maybe? you don't generally wanna hurt a donor car unless your RX Performance or Fabberge. Still the gains are pretty decent.

We are just looking for a performance difference from OE vs our part, not peak HP numbers which does not apply to what we are doing, furthermore, 1:1 is 6th gear which equals a high speed on the dyno with a loaner car. If we were tuning for peak HP, we would definitely use 1:1.

Much debate on this for the V8 as well. Some are considering that the drive train losses aren't what they used to be (approx. 15%). For instance, our SS A8 dyno'd 401/403 stock. At the usual 15% loss calc, that would put us at 460/460 which is slightly higher than the 455/455 advertised. This dyno with the 15% gives you 281. Maybe the 15% is too high with todays transmissions and drive train?
